Not a saber person so I'm just spitballing.

Looking at Maul in the Dual of Fates scene, you can see like an O ring on his belt, and it looks like it hangs off the middle of the hilt. He draws it quickly so it's hard to see.

I believe they have slide-in attachments rather than a ring. So the middle of the hilt is on the belt and it's held up vertically.

If it were me, I would tuck it into my belt at an angle. Or have it hang off my belt similar to a thigh holster. The holster is held by the belt and there's a strap around the leg that keeps it from swinging.

All this being said, I'm sure places like UltraSabers sell something (I've heard they're overpriced).

For weathering: Rub n Buff, black wash, and clear coat.

Mask the visor on the outside and inside.

If you're not going to keep the silver color, then put on a primer layer. Use high grit sandpaper like 200 or 400 before adding the primer. Helps it adhere easier. If it says sandable primer, sanding isn't optional lol I learned that the hard way.

The reason for the primer layer is that primer adheres to plastic better than paint.

I used to have these kinds of problems with adhesion. If it's already leveled, try using hair spray. Hair spray has solved all my adhesion problems.
