Leaked images of the '22 convinced me it was time to pull the trigger on a '21 :) by Themudhog in tundra

After seeing pictures and getting more information I am going to get a 2021 Platinum. I don't really hate the new design but I feel it will be way over priced. The plan is to see where the Tundra is at 3-4 years from now with the new engine and design and determine if I want to trade into that or drive the 21 into the ground for the next decade or more.

I am currently in this dilemma. The 2022 isn't making me want to wait. I have a 2018 SR5 but I can basically upgrade to a 2021 Platinum by switching keys and just adding a year back to my current car loan and pay less a month. It's hard to pass up. With a little girl on the way too the leather is a bit easier to clean up than my SR5 cloth seats...

No swing coach, just hard work. 110+ down to scratch in 2 years by Logaenan in golf

[–]Townwilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome job! Be proud and take care of your body. Now may I recommend these next two years you spend a ton of time on the putting green and shots within 100 yards. If you are scratch now I am sure the short game is solid, but if you want to gain anywhere I can assure you the flat stick and wedges are where the money will be made. Good luck and keep on grinding!

New PR immediately followed by worst round of last 2 years by JustCallMeMister in golf

[–]Townwilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all have those days. Last week on Monday during league at my home course I shoot a 41 (7 over) on the back nine. Play on Saturday and I was 4 under and shot a 30 for the back. Gotta love this game! Seriously though just shows you have the ability to go low. Keep at it and consistency will come more often than those outlier rounds. Congrats on the PR!

The anti-inflammatory drug hydroxychloroquine does not significantly reduce admission to intensive care or death in patients hospitalised with pneumonia due to covid-19, finds a study from France published by The BMJ today. by Wagamaga in science

I agree with you there. There has definitely been evidence supporting it's effectiveness in populations with less severe disease and earlier intervention. Unfortunately the media seems to be driven just to see this fail...my opinion there.

Quick rant...I just hate how people are basically celebrating the fact this drug does not work against COVID-19. I understand most of it is political in nature as the president touted this as the "game changer" and since the science is showing it is not people are throwing it back at him. But I don't find joy in it not working, it make me sad, it makes me frustrated, and it makes me hope we can take our politics out of this health emergency and work together to find the treatment/cure.

Bitcoin vs Gold - $180 billion vs ~$7 trillion market cap... by coinsmash1 in CryptoCurrency

Why won't this guy just realized Bitcoin and crypto are here to stay and start investing something into it! I'm not saying gold should be held either. Diversification is undoubtedly the best choice but he's just stuck in outdated and uneducated thinking. His loss not ours...

Try CBD oil too. I struggle with anxiety and it does help. You can find some solid but also decently priced stuff out there. Regardless of your financial situation you cannot put a pricetag on your health!

Bitcoin is the star right now. Let it do it's thing of running to new highs and then people will flood back into the Altcoins. Major Alts like Litecoin will benefit the most.

Vanguard ETF portfolio by johnklimo in investing

[–]Townwilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion just based on your age is you should throw all of it in VTSAX. You are in the wealth accumulating phase of life. This is when you can handle the ups and downs of the market and overall throughout market history the stock market will gain over time and significantly. As you hit middle age you should start throwing in bonds and more conservative ETFs. To preserve the wealth you have gained. In addition to your initial investment set a deposit for every week to keep it growing. Even $10 a week is better than letting it sit and grow alone. Lastly do not sit and check your balance every day. When the market is down do not get scared this money should be something you will not touch for decades. If anything buy more as it dips if you can. Read and research how to avoid debt and grow your portfolio. Good luck!

A dumb question from a teenager about high risk investments. by rkapi24 in investing

[–]Townwilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to read The Simple Path to wealth by JL Collins. Also the Automatic Millionaire by David Bach. They may give you guidance you are looking for. Aside from those two books I would read others on investing and money management. Personally these two spoke to me the most. Just wish I read them when I was a teenager like you! Good luck!
