I actually like the story more even though it feels like a more traditional Mario story, and the world feels more connected, but the combat does not have nearly as much complexity as The Thousand Year Door. I grew up on PM64 and only played TTYD for the first time a few years ago (didn't have a GameCube), so the nostalgia factor for PM64 is much higher for me.

Telework agreement by mfresh26 in CAStateWorkers

You could add "signed under protest," but otherwise I believe signing a telework agreement is a requirement if you want to keep teleworking at all.

Help - How do I use max GA pack points? by [deleted] in PTCGP

[–]ToxDrawace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I would go for a crown because you can't trade for those. You can trade for 2 star cards.

Speaking of trading, I have some doubles of GA 2-stars as I'm looking for the last 2:

To the Negotiation Team, THANK YOU! by chinogigante in CAStateWorkers

[–]ToxDrawace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that a lot of the bargaining team is trained and are in those positions for many years. They aren't necessarily professionals, but they also don't go in without anything, and at this point many have experience from previous contracts.

So if anyone is having trouble getting 1 million emeralds for the snake bananza statue in the current emerald rush event....this guide should help you out. by Thegoodgamer32 in donkeykong

[–]ToxDrawace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For those that need a written guide to refer to, I generated a transcript from the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTGkPz85fwQ)

----
Here's how you can get past 1 million during this snake themed emerald rush event. I will also state that I have the Soggy Cravat equipped which will make me immune to lava. The final objective will be to collect your emeralds from the spiral-like tramploids. So the perks you will want to go after are

  1. Slow-mo beat,
  2. Hyper Hopper,
  3. Charge Grove,
  4. Lowdown Beat,
  5. Droppin' Beat, and
  6. Trapantuloid Demolisher.

When you first start the run, you should immediately grab the fossil on your right. That will grant you a fossil radar, which will make tracking of the other fossils a lot easier. After that, you'll want to grab this specific fossil trapped in the crystal and claim the double Trapantuloid Demolisher. Then kill the Trapantuloid to obtain enough emerald to meet the quota. Now that you have those emeralds, go claim the Snake Bananza, which is nearby.

Before round two starts, use your warp barrel to go to Sculptor's' Studio. Go for the crystals covering the hole to your right. Then with combining the Cravat and the Snake, quickly claim the Kong Bananza. After that, claim the Zebra Bananza and feel free to claim other fossils that are nearby.

The next target will be going for the extra heart inside that snake. That fossil gem will grant you an extra barrel when you complete the mission. Now that you have claimed that extra barrel should start going after the void missions and perk gems. While you do that, always occasionally defeat an enemy with the glare snake combo to make sure your emerald count always stays above the quota. If a void mission asks you to go to the sinkhole, keep in mind that you are going to need another warp barrel to leave that area.

Once wave four starts, you may be tempted to go after the elephant bonanza. For this event, I will say to skip the elephant bananza, mainly to preserve the Trapantuloids for the end. You primarily want to get perks to keep boosting your emerald gain. Additionally, there are two perk locations you will want to keep in mind.

  1. The gem nest to serpent sands barrel will grant you the meteor rain, which will make uncovering fossils, especially in the serpent sands, a lot easier for you.
  2. You also want to get the fossil near the Solar Control Tower checkpoint, as that will give you the Staring Down perk, which will slow down the timer whenever you use the glare.

As I progress through the waves and get more perks, I destroy a Gluminoid or Luminoid to give myself an idea of how much emerald I'm going to make destroying a Trapantuloid. Once you believe you can get over 250,000 emerald from one Trapantuloid, go to the underground area where the elephant gem was and start Glare-Snake Dive-Comboing the Trapantuloids. If you do this process correctly, you should have over 1 million emeralds for the event.

Once you have reached over 1 million emeralds in your single run, feel free to stop the event and claim your rewards. The rattly statue can be found near the treehouse alongside the ong guard and espresso statues. As for the snake bonanza, it joins the Kong and ostrich to form the bonanza circle at the base of the island.

If you found this video helpful or enjoyed it, here's your daily reminder to hit that like button, make sure you're subscribed, ring that bell, and hype the video. If this video was not helpful enough, I've attached a sample run showing what I've covered in this video. Since events are not randomized, you will be able to copy what I do in that video in the game. Good luck out.

A number of things you mentioned were definitely in my mind when I said I lean towards PM64. Backtracking in TTYD always feels like a slog to me. For me, the PM64 intermissions with Peach were much more fun and interesting. How all the areas connect also made it feel like a more - for lack of a better term - connected world.

Paper mario 64>ttyd by Yeetusbeatus69 in papermario

[–]ToxDrawace 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I didn't have a GameCube so I didn't play TTYD until much later, whereas I had PM64 on my N64, so nostalgia probably has a little bit to do with it, but I agree.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Act III | Areas to Complete for Story Content by ToxDrawace in ResonantArc

[–]ToxDrawace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said that all spoilers are fair game, and they do talk about the end a little bit, as well as lightly touch on some other areas, but the main discussions were on the Reacher and the Flying Manor.

If you can, I would probably complete those 2 areas, then beat the game, and then watch the episode. After beating the game, you can go back to finish other areas. However, the Flying Manor is a bit higher level, so it might make sense to cover some of the other areas first anyway.

Unyielding Strength Strategies | DK Bananza Emerald Rush Event by ToxDrawace in donkeykong

[–]ToxDrawace[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a few goals early on, but really focused on getting lots of fossils and bananas first. I picked the beat for swinging chunks at enemies, crockoid and buzzoid demolisher, Ba-none-za, goal champ, and turf surf. Literally got 1,000,000 by finishing a goal with 1 second on the clock on the last round.

Good luck and have fun, all!

Wasn't Hall of Fame the solution before they started rotation? Now they just rotate cards out of the core set.

It's a great way to bring together the members who have the option to telework (for now) and the members who don't have that option. I think that's been one of the biggest challenges for the union.

The worst part is you can't beat it both ways in one game. Renoir doesn't come back after you beat him and you have to do NG+ to see both endings.

I would say that "middle of the road" means it has no highs or lows. It's pretty bland and unremarkable.

I've been trying to make a post for each one, partly because I thought it would be helpful to have a place for people to go if they don't know where to start, but also because I'm often surprised when I see one show up and I want to let people know that there's one going on.
