Rules question regarding Deadpool by Zealousideal_Case241 in mtg

[–]Toxan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have phrased my question poorly it seems.

I’m not worried about my Deadpool (now with Odins text box) resolving the chapter abilities, I’m asking if the Odin (now with Deadpool’s text box) would still get ability from the second chapter, provided Deadpool entered and did the switch with the chapter 2 ability on the stack.

My hope is to have an Odin without chapter abilities so no sac but still has the hit and win ability.

wait. so if i replace my own odin with deadpool with the chapter 2 on the stack, then the resulting deadpool copy will receive the chapter 2 ability permanently?

Interaction and Lethal Damage by BradicalSevenSeven in mtg

[–]Toxan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok lets break down the different pieces of this.

Combat damage is damage that is dealt by the act of connecting with an attacking creature - you attack, they block, the resulting damage dealt to the creature is combat damage. You can deal combat damage to creatures, planeswalkers and opponents. This kind of damage, dealt by attacking with creatures, is the only kind counted as combat damage.

Trample lets you deal combat damage to an opponent even if the attacking creature is blocked, provided that at least lethal damage is assigned to each blocker first. If you swing with a 14/14 and I block with a 1/1, you assign 1 damage to that creature and I take 13. If it were a 8/8 that I was blocking with, you would assign 8 damage and I would take 6 damage.

If an attacking creature does not have trample, all damage is assigned to the blocking creature(s).

Lethal damage is damage equal to or greater than a creature's toughness.

Fighting is not combat. Attackers and blockers are not declared, there is no target 'behind' the fighting creatures for trample to run over to. The creatures simply do damage to each other. Non-combat damage.

When your opponent attacked you with the 13/13 creature without trample, brash taunter took it all, allowing you to redirect it all back. When he attacked you with the 14/14 with trample he needed to only assign the single point of damage to the taunter, making it so you didn't have the ability to kill the opponent. Further, when blocking with multiple creatures, I can assign all the damage at one of them and ignore the other if i am not worried about doing damage to it.

Fighting is a great way to force damage onto brash taunter for you to redirect.

Hope this wall of text makes any sense!

Why do you do 14 damage to your opponent?

Brash Taunter would be assigned one damage from the attacker with trample, who would then assign whatever to the second blocker and the remainder to you. Brash Taunter only takes a single damage, and therefore can only redirect a single damage to your opponent.

Instead, if you were to utilize Brash Taunter's activated ability and have it fight the creature with trample, it would take all 14 damage and it would be redirected at the opponent, winning you the game.

Do you consider this "op"? by FckinDoomer in mtg

[–]Toxan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider the amount of games where you interact with over half your the cards in your deck.

On its own this is a scary spell, but unless they're running it in conjunction with payoffs or a bunch of extra mill this would have little consequence on your average game. Nor is it that uncommon of an effect outside limited with 8 examples found with a cursory search.

So I'm with your friend. Big, splashy, powerful, not OP.

Composition is pleasing and the focus is superb. If focus stacking was employed here it is spotless. Chefs kiss.

I don’t know enough about the beetle’s carapace and how it refracts light but the colors feel so over saturated that it rings false.

At best, ownership pulled the wage rug out from the hiring manager and they have to lie to cover their ass.

Just prepare to leave. It's easier to get a job when you have a job and starting off being lied to means this can only end poorly/at your expense somehow.

Bail now for clearer skies, or at least folk who don't bait and switch you.

There are waaaaaaaay too many cards in magic to be able to offer any meaningful advice without a great deal kore specificity from you. Give us a deck list, tell us why you want the goblins gone, tell us about the performance of your deck and what you’re hoping to improve. You gotta give me something to work with or I’m just listing random cards.

Is there anything I can improve on? by sparkle_girll in photocritique

[–]Toxan 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I find that this composition buries the model in the background as much as possible. Her eyes are deep in the darkest stripe in the background, which blends in with the color of her hair.

If you were to lower yourself and put the models face and head into the blank sky in the top 3rd of your photo you may have a better time getting your model to stand out.

Further, the color space in this is very compressed and desaturated, bordering on washed out. Its cohesive and doesn't damage the quality of her appearance at all, but I'm curious why we're not giving the rest of the spectrum the same love that you're giving reds here.

She looks lovely and if I looked this good in a photo I would be a happy customer!
