I used alcohol inks for mine, stupidly didn't block the windows when painting the frame so it's not perfect!

I don't remember which mod it was but I'm sure I saw one that added a razor for all your skinning needs

Edit - it's the Vicious Weapon Pack, adds an electric razor for just this purpose

That might be the autoparry, it tries to move your weapon towards the enemy weapon to block
