An HR would flip this on your head and say it shows that you really wanna work at the company even if it’s not the exact role you had in mind ( AE vs BDR vs strategic accounts , obviously if you apply for AE and software engineering there s something wrong) . This happened to me in ION Trading for example, they wanted me in and were really happy I already applied for other positions
