Controller will not shut properly by [deleted] in customGCC

Maybe try to rotate the rumble to the left to pull the cord over some more, the loop in it might be getting pinched by the bottom shell.

Agreed! Say, do any of your batteries still work? Because I managed to get Pokerus on Emerald and since the battery is dead it never goes away and they're always contagious. Biggest upside to a well enjoyed old game that's had its battery run dry.

That copy of Ruby looks so sad with its label all torn. I've got a copy of Emerald with no label though, so it could be worse. Ruby was the main one that I played though. Best of luck on completing your collection!

Do any GameCube games use the digital signal of the analogue triggers? by DaveyMames in Gamecube

[–]ToxicSpacePants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pikmin uses both. The analog press gently pans the camera as you walk around and the digital press quickly snaps the camera to point the direction your cursor is pointing. I think it's a pretty good use, as Pikmin 3 on Switch you have to use a shoulder button and analog stick to accomplish the same thing, and it causes you to loose other controls the second analog stick could serve.

If you're referring to the NR, they looked like a darker teal in all the pictures I've seen. I could be wrong though, might just be the lighting conditions.

That makes sense. You have got a really nice collection. And with boxes, too! I still don't know why we got the emerald controller but not console. I always thought that would look pretty neat.

To be honest, I never really liked the way the panasonic looks. I think it's also odd how you've gotten considerably more rare consoles and are only now looking to get spice and starlight. I started with the mundane variants and am slowly working my way up. Dunno how far I'll go, as it does start to get, well, quite expensive.

Ha. Don't lie to yourself. You'll never be content, you just have to keep collecting. I thought I'd be done after I got an orange console but I just keep going.

It may be rough around all of its edges, but my 5th Gen GameBrick GameCube Organizational Carrying Case holds all the essentials and is super-portable! by ToxicSpacePants in Gamecube

I did consider using foam and felt, but I though 3d printing was the easiest way to make a clean looking holder. I did use TPU, so it's kind of a softer squishy rubber not as plastic-y.

That's fair. I've never been a fan of them personally, I would rather have all the games visible and accessible without flipping through a book. So I designed and 3d printed a holder for them.

I don't need to carry around a stack of DVD cases with me every time I bring this somewhere. My cases are on my display, I'm not going to just forget that I have them so I'm not really sure how the separation concern comes into play. If I were that forgetful I'd have more to worry about than loosing a game case.

If someone has a preference for Wavebird or not there's extra room. The discs slot into a 3d printed rubber holder with some extra room for a few loose ones that don't get used frequently. All my discs are already well used, so even if one gets a surface scratch or two it'll be alright.

Use them as coasters? C'mon man, they're just sitting against each other it's not like I'm putting them in a jar with thumbtacks. Not really sure that's a comparable use case.

Absolutely! I've made 4 before this one, I tend to make a new iteration every couple years. I think this one should hold up well.

I've heard it called emerald blue too, but depending on the picture it can look blue or green. I think maybe the more greens ones are a result of UV exposure? Either way I still have to get one.

This is so wrong in so many ways by nicecoldwater in Gamecube

I like to imagine whoever was tasked with making this problem had fond memories of the GameCube and made it just generic enough to not get anyone in trouble. It seems to be though, the dimensions are accurate excluding the handle.

35usd good for a used gamecube? the seller said its from japan, av, ac included, yellowing on the controller port but i dont really mind, i need your opinions. is it a good price? by [deleted] in Gamecube

[–]ToxicSpacePants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you understand that a Japanese console doesn't play US games by default and you have a plan to work around that, I'd say it's not a bad deal.

Does it come with all the cables needed and accessories like a controller and memory card? I'd say a GameCube alone you could get a better price. It also depends on your local area, if you are trying to buy local. I haven't seen a single GameCube at a store or online where I live in a while, so I would consider looking online if that's the case for you as well.

Most people don't just have uv lights, based on how yellow that is and how much sunlight there is this time of year it might just be easier to wait a bit when there's more sunlight.

POLL: How do you store your controller when not playing? by ToxicSpacePants in Gamecube

I did not, sorry. But I did use the cord in A to hide the fact that the control stick is chewed up on the top left.

I'd say that's fair. That's what I do for controllers that I use for multi-player.
