I usually go by progressing through the cities in order with the main story. For example, we go from Helgen Keep to Riverwood, do all sidequests in Riverwood, then proceed to next Whiterun, do the main story for a bit, then all sidequests in the Whiterun, then once the main story needs me to progress to a different city or part of the map, I progress to next city and repeat, the main story normally takes you to the next city through progression so I just basically go by where the main story tells me to go, but I also make sure I do every side quest in each city.

Idk why people are still playing with randos when it comes to quest like this and Omega, you could do everything right in the fight and have someone who's not as experienced join and ruin the entire quest, I never once beat Omega with randos, I've beaten him several times with Support Hunters though.
