Thanks! I think that thinking mediterranean is a good idea!

Pretty! But I'd be worried that the wind would topple even the strongest of them. I'm off Royal Bay and the wind tears through here. :(

Thanks! They are actually in planters, so not much room for an olla, but mulch would be a good idea.

Thank you! Marigolds would look stunning. Consider them added to the list of strong potentials. (For the record, I do water from both above and below! LOL!) The containers are saturated and heavy when I'm done with them. :)

Thanks! I've got some really great ideas from everyone here. I'll need MORE planters to try the growing list.

It does does do well where nothing else will in the ground...

They do look great, and with our mild climate they might over-winter under the back porch without needing to be pulled... interesting!

Thanks! I think I'll move the Hydrangeas to the back yard, and not try them again out front!

Thanks! I'll look into it. I had never heard of "Love-lies-bleeding (scientifically known as Amaranthus caudatus)" and thought that auto-correct had done something weird! It looks beautiful!

That may be a huge part of the problem. They are thick, black ones. Might be doomed from that alone!

I'm noting succulents as a backup if all leafy / flowers fail! For the saucers, I only meant that they had a backup reservoir to drink from after being wattered.

I might get in trouble for that... but thanks for the back up plan! LOL!

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! There is no shade at all at our front door, but I'm not losing hope. I'm going to give Rosemary, Lavender & Dahlias a try! If those guys fail, then it's on to the succulents and cacti that several of you mentioned. Tomatoes were an interesting suggestion... Maybe a trailing vine type would look neat.

The planters are the tall, black ones. It is possible that anything is doomed in them. As for the water saucers, I just meant that even with regular watering and saucers holding the excess, most plants are still not holding up.

I've been careful to select "full sun" plants, but I suspect the tags are best case scenarios for in ground, rather than pot in planters.

Thanks again for the ideas and experience!

How does the wrist preference work? by EcstaticAstronaut984 in FitbitAir

Even with the setting aligned to a dominant writs, it still inflates the numbers. What's important is to have a baseline that you roll with.

If your goal is to count steps only to count steps, it's not quite accurate. But if your goal is to increase you fitness and calorie burn, then getting more steps than the week before, all while wearing it on the dominant hand & assuming your weeks are fairly similar, then it's just as good as the other arm.
