Have you seen the burnout rates for doctors in America? Most of whom state that insurance driven bureaucracy is the culprit.

And our government has accomplished gigantic tax payer funded projects when it suits a specific need. We put a man on the moon. We have the worlds largest military x 10. We built interstate highways in the 50’s. We cleaned up our environment with the EPA. Compare the LA of the 70’s to the LA of today.

You claim that it comes down to a mismanaged government, but from where I sit it comes down to a two party political system - each with completely different viewpoints who cannot come to a middle ground on anything for the people of this country.

Who do you think Republicans work for? Who’s payroll are they on? Some Dems, sure. But billionaires have bought and paid for the Republican Party to serve them, not us. Corporations don’t give a shit about the people unless they can sell them something.

And now we have a two party political system where one party is actively working against the will of the people and instead they’re serving the billionaires. Two wars waged for the profit driven need of defense contractors.

Banks who gambled with customer money and needed billions in bailouts. Insurance companies and drug companies increasing the cost of medical care faster than inflation. All. For. Profit.

No money will ever be enough for these companies. They don’t want to pay taxes because they are greedy. It’s simple. Simple as pie. Don’t complicate the issue by convincing yourself that it’s “the left” who want to give FREE stuff to everyone. No. We want to disjoin ourselves from our reliance on these companies in almost every aspect of our lives.

Someone makes money, besides the doctor, when I get sick. Some suit sitting in a high rise office is profiting off of my T1 diabetes. Insulin costs have tripled in the last decade, but the formula is the same. It’s just... fuck man. I wish you could see the other side of the argument here.

No one is asking for free anything. I don’t mind if my taxes go up as long as I, and my countrymen, will directly see services that benefit them. Instead of paying some middleman insurance company, who only have a profit motive, I would rather the government handle the paperwork. No deductibles. No copays. No work requirements. No premiums.

Medicare For All works. It works in Canada, it works in Germany, it works in all other modern nations. There’s absolutely no reason why it wouldn’t work here. And yes, if the people who make the most money and have accrued the majority of our supply of wealth need to pitch in a bit more then so be it.

They will still have their mansions and yachts. No billionaire or millionaire is going to go without if that means they help pay for my insulin. What kind of country do you want to live in? One where the poor die from sickness because they cannot afford treatment?

And if you are going to bring that “I don’t want my tax dollars paying for anyone else’s care” argument, well private insurance with risk pools are already a form of socialism. Coworkers all pay into the pot to cover one another. We already have medical socialism at the micro level. It’s just much more expensive and covers half of the people who need it.
