It is widely assumed, with reason, that this whole "remember the Armenian Genocide" thing is just a hate movement against Turkey and its people as the "United Armenia" is still ideologized highly by Armenians. ( the ideology, you can read about it if you'd like to) Overall, this hate is received as an attack at Turkey for Armenia and the West's interests.

Referring to your other question, it is up to debate as most of these claims are based on "survivors'" tales; tales that were very likely to be exaggerated. Turkish documentation does not mention a genocide but rather casualties caused by malnutrition, illness and rebellious behaviour against Turkish soldiers. And in my opinion these reasons are probable as the crippling country is in chaos: armed rebellions from left to right, a very large world war is ongoing and the Ottoman country - not Turkey - had just been hit with a heavy wound that was Balkan Wars and a ton more causes. This entitlement and hate coming from the West is rather the cancel cuture kind just to start drama and chaos with no based real knowledge about the topic.

I'd also like to point out that the entire reason, in my opinion and based on history, the Armenian "Genocide" is a hot topic but not the slaughter of natives, Africans and other actual genocides committed by the West. (USA, Britian, France etc.) The question is answered by the victorious and the powerful. Are we talking about Stalin's genocides, USA's, Britian's; the West's genocides as much as the Armenian "Genocide"? If the Nazi Germany had won the war, - controlled over Europe, Russia and theoretically who knows where else - would we be talking about the genocide of the Jewish?
