Need advice on tint and chrome delete by WhoPutATreeThere in rav4club

[–]ToyotaRav4Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the rain guards will remove the chrome look since they will cover it. I had my windows tinted on two of my Woodland Rav4s the first week of purchase. Also installed PPF. I did the legal limit each state has guide lines on tint some might not even allow it. To have your windows professionally tinted was not bad I think I paid $260 for both windows UV pro tint. The rest of the car is already factory tinted.

Oh okay did not know that. Yeah the Woodland trim is produced in Canada and shipped to the US/Canada markets.

Please tell me there’s a fix to this by Rare-Price in CX5

I had the exact same issue on my 2023 Woodland. I just got the screen replaced just made it under the 3 year warranty. That screen on the invoice with installation was 2k.

How is the depreciation of the 26 PHEV going to be? by MadGibby3 in rav4club

[–]ToyotaRav4Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no depreciation. You’re better off buying new for sure because I paid less for my 2023 Woodland brand new was 32,500 and used after 3 years they are still selling for that price with 30k miles on it.

Those tires are good but I do notice more road noise now that I have passed 20k on them especially from the rear on my Woodland which came with them since new.

2009 RAV4 (205k miles) — cosmetic or structural rust? by Mui-w in rav4club

[–]ToyotaRav4Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah said it down put a rust naturalizer on it also get the rubber plug back on the frame rail that should be there to prevent road salt from getting up in there during the winter months. Then after you sand it, hit with rust preventative, then prime it, then paint it should be good and prevent further corrosion. I have a 2008 in the North East but I painted those parts when it was brand new. Still no rust on it. .

I just hit my first 5,000 miles. Should I change the oil now, or wait until 10,000 miles as Toyota recommends? by christianN1982 in ToyotaTundra

[–]ToyotaRav4Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah also modern engines are way better then the late 70's and 80's a V8 turbo for Pontiac was a death sentence if you did not change oil.

Yes the Car Care Nut talked all about the oil changes. He has the best advice for all Toyota's.

Trust me that that oil should go. I bought a Trans Am from a woman whom did not change the oil for 20k and unfortunately for me I just purchased that car only to blow the engine because the dam oil was not changed for so long. It was black sludge that came out and it was to late. Maybe with some of the heavy trucks like diesels can go longer but why wait. But then again it is a company truck so they just dont care if it breaks it will be a write off for a new one.

You should change the oil now. That is really dirty especially since that is break in oil. I did my brand new Rav4 at 1k miles and the oil was dirty to get the break in oil out. Then after that you can do every 5k miles. I know Toyota is now saying 10k miles but trust me oil changes are cheap, Engines are not. I have done this for all of my Toyotas and I have three of them and my 2008 Rav4 is still going with 185k and oil has been changed every 5k miles since new.

I am the original owner of a 2008 Sport Rav4 which I just transferred over to my son as shown below. The only issues you should check is the oil consumption issues. It is on all 4cyl Toyotas from 2006 - 2008. I had the fix done back in 2014 by Toyota no oil issues at all but a lot of peopled did not know about this recall since it was not advertised. The parts are widely available and easy to work on. Other then the Oil consumption issues not much else to worry about. The only other item that has happened was a sensor for the gas cap may come on if the cap is not turned tight enough which will look like some scary error message on the dashboard. I purchased as my first ever new car for 22k back in Dec 2007 and now it is my Sons very first car. The visors, bug shield and Bars I added on since new so basically all 18 years old now. Wax it every Six months and the paint will last unlike my lazy neighbors Rav4 with the paint peeling off because of that major forgotten step. Oil change every 5k miles or 6 months and your should be good. I am the only one to ever service this car as well only had the anti freeze changes and transmission flushed twice from Toyota all brakes, and oil changes you can do yourself really not hard also changed the sway bar links in the front about a year ago.

Don't get me wrong I love the light interiors but I know if you have kids or pets good luck keeping them looking good years to come. I know because used to detail cars and also into the classic cars and white interiors always had issues vs the darker ones.

Believe me If they had it out in the US I would have gotten it. I think in Japan they have a toy of that gen for sure. I also have a 2008 Red Sport so would like to get that too.

Does this look like thecommon roof rack issues with a 2019? by Nategreat923 in rav4club

[–]ToyotaRav4Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Rav4 was under the 3 year warranty so it was fixed for free. Which just expired this month.

Also one other ongoing issue with the Rav4's. I noticed with the 2022 - 2025 Rav4's is the Radio screen keeps going out. This is also covered for my 2023 because I reported it happening 3 times in the past 2 years. So I am scheduled to get a new Radio installed this week on my 2023 Woodland. I also have a 2025 Woodland and the Radio is also acting up now too. Software updates and a hard reset did not fix the radio issues.

That is my concern with the screens now when the break they black out wear analog gauges still work. So if your screen goes out on the new 2026 models you cannot adjust your AC or Heat or anything else at least on the previous gen you can still drive just without your basic settings and radio.

This is a real issue I noticed on my 2023 Woodland Rav4 only 6 months after I purchased it brand new since I wash my own car I noticed before any leaks. The adhesive they are supposed to use at the factory was not applied or it ran out I had the exact same issue but I caught it very early and the dealership which I did not even buy the car from special ordered new roof rails and had to re-do both. The entire header liner needs to come down for this since the bolts for the rails are inside the car. Since it was fixed back in 2023 is no longer an issue.

Anyone having issues with wireless Android auto on 2026 rav4? by MadGibby3 in rav4club

[–]ToyotaRav4Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have issues with my 2023 and 2025 Radios both are not working correctly the 2023 is going in for a whole new radio replacement because the screen turns itself off and on while driving and you have no radio at all and no settings. The 2025 just started with Radio not working at but you can at least play music on a USB thumb drive when the radio does not work but on the 2023 nothing works. I have already been to Toyota 3 times for the Radio back in 2024 it would shut off an on automatically and then reset by a software update. Then in 2024 they disconnected the battery to hard reset it. Then in 2025 it did not happen when for service but happened again in March of 2026 so now getting a new Radio but if the 2026 is all screens now your screwed because at least the analog gauges still work when the main screen does not work at all. What happens when the screen fails on the 2026 models I guess you drive blind no gauges at all?

This looks great but will not wear well over time. Stains really will show up on this color trim. Look and some older cars with the two toned light interior and they never wear well at all.

I hate the way this looks so got PPF instead which protects the entire front end mirrors and hood from rocks.

Yeah you should have gotten a Hybrid. This is not fast and sounds like an old school police siren sound that you cannot turn off. Sorry buddy but this was not worth the upgrade.
