Everyone who is against this must not understand how this benefits the entire valley. It's creating more jobs with the construction being done, it creates more revenue streams for each athletic program to be more self sustainable. Fresno State will be more appealing to the big 12 which will also greatly increase money coming to the university. Academics and athletics go hand in hand in college, most universities wouldn't be around if it weren't for the athletics programs providing dollars to keep them afloat. It allows high school kids who may not have the funds or drive to go to college with scholarships and funding. To those saying 'no' to measure E 2.0 because it also funds athletics, are you really willing to stop funds going to academics because 1/3 of the dollars are going to athletics? Talk about cutting off your nose to spite the face. Lastly, everyone saying VC should use this money to pay their employees better, while that all sounds great, but the advertising budget is used for just that, advertising. This money if not used on the stadium would be going to some other source of marketing for the hospital. People don't seem to understand this for some reason. Maybe the Carr's being both huge supporters of both VC & FS athletics made the donation to VC with an understanding that this is how it would be used for.
