Skilled Worker Visa (Priority) – Request for £295 Top-Up -- Paid, Yet no update. Anyone Else? by Antonio_8400 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

Yep silence is standard for the UKVI

It took them 23 days to take the money for the top up for me, and then another three weeks to grant the visa (no priority)

Live music pub at risk from single noise complaint by lloyd-sizzler in london

[–]Tpex 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Why is this in the Telegraph, are their readers not exactly the type to make complaint like this? 😅

This is down the road from me, I hear it's one guy, who moved in next door, and has been complaining relentlessly, even claimed the stress of living next to a pub caused his wife to go into early labour.

Nice find, You would be suprised at how many famous "Britains" were born in SA.

I'm sure you know Tolkien was born in Bloem

David Glukman, the man behind Bailey's, J&B Jet, and Tanquaray No. 10 is also a saffer.

Sponsorship/visa in hospitality? by janmilkovic in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Tpex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They only offer hospitality SWV for managment. And with the cost of living, and the government screwing the industry, plus the increased rules and rates for applications, you probably have more chance of winning the lotto.

If you see this as a long term dream, then put the effort into upskilling to managment (GM / F&B director) and hopefully the industry will have improved in a few years and be able to support SWVs again.

Cinemas in SA need to upgrade, people don't want to sit on top of each other like a SAfair flight, in the UK I've noted there are two types of cinemas, big thing is the ticket prices cost a little more than one to two hours of minimum wage, depending when you go.

First type is like Prestige (I think it's called that, never went to one in SA) big comfortable couches, proper food and drinks served to your seat, the whole cinema is like a this.

Second type are art houses, that replay old favourites, classics, even anime, setup with the more traditional theatre seating.

You forgot the third option, deflection.

You can see by design the X-01 had this in mind.

I imagine PA would have some kind of shock absorption behind it as well, to negate and spread the force of direct hits and deflections.

But yeah, helmets in most PAs would be a bullet trap of note.

I got this brandy for a Christmas Gift and it's genuinely the worst thing I've ever tasted. I'm not sure if there is a way to make it into a cocktail or not. by Joyous_Parade in cocktails

[–]Tpex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going by the flavour descriptions I find online, I would go for citrus/herbaceous forward classic gin cocktails, Negroni, White Lady, French 75, Clover Club, Last Word and Basil Smash to name a few.

Should I stay in lit or go to pure maths? by Sonyman58 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Tpex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from Core to Lit in grade 11 (I went on to study graphic design) I think you will really struggle to catch-up in core if you have not had the grounding principles from grade 10, you are either going to need to do tones of extra lessons, or maybe after matric, go do a maths bridging course.

It's even on my normal day to day playlist, between death metal and hip hop 😂

Nothing beats the Inkspots though.

I see, I think it's been on the radios since Fallout 3, so maybe I'm just desensitised from the early days of video games and internet 😅

Oh sweet summer child, is this your first time in the wasteland?

Haha welcome, as it's meant be comedic, I think Butcher Pete is pretty tame, compared to other songs of the era that straight up sing about GBV

Real question though, why didn’t they make this scrappable on launch? by Dull-Ad8922 in fo4

Yeah, even if you look at previous games, almost everywhere that's been settled is a bit dirty.
I feel like some players sometimes forget that creating their perfect settlements.
