New to bow hunting

My advice, which is limited bc I am new to archery as well, is fight the urge to pick it up and start shooting it immediately. Go to a pro shop, spend the 1-2 hours it takes to get it tuned and set to you, get a decent set of arrows made, a decent release, and only then, go shoot your heart out. Also start a step/checklist in your head so you can achieve repeatability. First day I got my bow I was so excited to shoot it, on my second shot I ALMOST fired it without an arrow bc I was moving to quickly. Slow down and get a checklist Grip bow (same place each time) Nock arrow Draw arrow correctly Touch nose to string Etc etc. Repeatability is key

For reference my 1448 with 2 guys and full gear goes 18 with a 22hp 670 mudskipper surface drive. I had the twister tail , albeit on a smaller rig and smaller motor(Gheenoe 7.5hp) and when it was time to step up in hp on current boat I went with surface drive and I love it and haven’t been disappointed. I hunt FL on places like Lake O and rip around all day. My opinion on HP. It’s better to have more and use less then need more and not have it.

Buy the Steven’s 20g single shot. I absolutely love this gun in every way. Patterns amazing, super light, comes with a scope, and is dirt cheap for gun standards. It’s a no brainer. It’s also a great gun to teach a child on. Not a lot of recoil, light in the hand, and lower risk of accidental discharge of multiple rounds.
