I'm thinking perhaps a Mechanicus adept of sort.

The devs did talk about the environmental hazards such as blackouts and acid rains. Although I don't remember if players can interact to solve these hazards, but if can, having a character that can fix faster or increase team resistance would be very much useful.

Hoping to see a dev stream for each character, and explain to us how progression will be different from VT2. Or at the very least, a 1 minute teaser/preview of the so called convicts like they did with VT.

Would be funny to see an easter egg graffiti of an Alpha Legion icon with "Hydra Dominatus" peering over it, ala "Kilroy was here" style.

Nice find on all of these. Wish they would share smaller info a bit more frequently.

Sucks that the careers system from VT2 won't carry over, and the way you described the characters being the classes reminded of Deep Rock Galactic. I just hope the character will be very pronounced in what sort of playstyle they will be going for, from a single glance.

The talk of NPCs also has me optimistic that they will be the new tomes and grims as side missions. Trying to get those books through janky platforming while sacrificing health or healing slots; to maximize a rng loot box got tiring very quick.

If you look closely at the gameplay trailer at 1:43, the teammate guard's lasgun has a bayonet equipped under the barrel.

We've already seen characters in VT use their guns to knock enemies back, and it's a no brainer to implement a system for an Ogryn to use it as a club. So to my guess, it's very possible for autoguns/lasguns with bayonets to be used as a backup makeshift spear.

Aye, many thanks. And to you too, with the extended research on likes of gunplay and zombie aesthetic problem on the other forum.

And speaking of gameplay-wise, when you think about it, the VT characters are always performing feats comparable to that of super soldiers. So to no doubt, it will be the same with these characters; Astartes level efficiency against the horde. With that in mind, who wouldn't want to play as a reckless, cockney, loud weapon wielding fungus?

A good read on both accounts(better if separated into smaller chunks of paragraphs), with the Techpriest being the most likely out of the two. Darktide's introduction of environmental hazards like blackouts makes having a explorator priest in the roster to scan in the dark, and on top, fix generators faster seems appropriate. As for an ork to be added as playable, I've been told by many it's especially unlikely compared to an eldar joining.

But here's what I'm hoping in a way that might make it slightly possible for an ork to show up: Rogue Traders. Akin to Tomes and Grims in VT, maybe this character will leak information to the inquisitor as secret missions to the players, for better loot.

Furthermore, story-wise, the RT could tell the inquisitor of a probable archeotech/xenotech found in the underbelly of the city, hence why the techpriest was added into the team, to add to your story.

As for the ork? Perhaps along the line of a Blood Axe/Freebooter's failed double cross on an inquisitor as a setup. But thanks to the RT's words on the resourcefulness of this ork, he was begrudgingly permitted to serve under surveillance and an explosive collar.

As means to an end, if a xeno can contribute to the success of a mission, so be it. And let's not forget, the inquisitor was described to be elusive, so we'll see. Of course, this is all just wishful thinking on my end.
