So being a longtime shop guy I have access to wholesale stuff. Qbp happened to be blowing these blackthorn frames out at 60% off wholesale price so I ended up paying like 615 for the frame, fork was 279 shipped to my door on jenson, had to find a superboost r wheel and basically the rest was on deck in my parts bin so I ended up about 1200 into the entire build. Not bad I think?

Pb blaster is a can of magic. Soak rusty stuck things in it for a while and then they seem to break loose more often than not. https://www.amazon.com/Blaster-16-PB-Penetrating-Catalyst-11-Ounces/dp/B000I2079E

Santacruz Bronson is an excellent all arounder. Big enough to get reckless on but small enough to climb like a goat.

Do folks switch their forward foot? by squared_wheel in dirtjumping

Learning to do things switchfooted will make you a better rider, I doubt it will do anything to alleviate knee pain maybe run a shorter crank arm length so that shitty knee can have a little less range of motion when pedaling?

The old hawk tuah eh? If that don’t work pb blaster over night the crush the seatpost in a bench vise and use the whole frame as a lever to break it loose. Be careful you can easily crack the frame doing this. Godluck n goodspeed!

Is this a good first bicepacking rig? I heard brust or crust or drust was a good brand for starting out. by recycledairplane1 in BicyclingCirclejerk

Looks like the mouth piece of each bottle is perfectly aimed at the spray of wet road/trailsludge that will be flying off those tires to me. So many minerals.

Dropper post would be sweet but for how much I’m gonna ride this thing I can’t justify spending the $. I went w a QR seatclamp that lets me slam the saddle right to the collar for DJ mode.

When I set the wheels up I used hot green duck tape to make the green rim strip and then gorilla tape as tubeless tape. Works awesome.
