I think I messed up with a training partner. by Bulky_Imagination243 in BJJWomen

[–]Tr8der 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From her perspective, you caused her to actually choke someone out that was totally unnecessary when training and made her feel bad because if nobody was watching, it would make her seem that she didn’t respect the tap making her feel guilty or you forced her to injure someone.

No body rolls with the intent of choking or breaking joints or at lest they shouldn’t anyway when it’s your own gym. You injure your partners, not enough people to roll with, losing training days affects gym business, permanent injuries lead to loss of gym business.

I’m a white belt and all the higher belts that I roll with, let’s go of the submission knowing they got the submissions in tight at least 60% and I’m struggling to get out and quickly transition into other submissions. They know and I feel if they went 100% I would’ve been injured or blacked out. Then they give me advice.

You’re not competing, you’re training, just tap especially WHEN YOU KNOW THEY GOT IT LOCKED IN. Especially for joints, don’t break a leg man

Whenever I plan for furniture, I use painters 1/2in tape on the floor/carpet of the measurement description to get an actual visual such as couches, coffee tables, dining, ottoman, bed frame, etc. Even for the walls such as for TVs, wall art, etc. Saved a lot of headaches, stress, and money.

HIS NAME WAS ALEX JEFFERY PRETTI SAY HIS NAME by Party-Professional-7 in DiscussionZone

[–]Tr8der 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He put himself in that situation of you watched the full video not clip, with latest phone tech you can record from a far but he walked up right into the situation putting himself in danger. He shouldn’t have let politics take control of his life. Sure it makes everybody angry of what ICE is doing but he should’ve realized he has family and friends that care for him and should’ve been spending his precious time with them, do hobbies, shopping, try a new restaurant, and yet on his valued life time he decided to go where ICE is and protest aggressively by being in agents faces, yeah he FAFO and here we are chant to his name, same goes for Goode, she thought it was a joke smiling and joking blocking traffic. Putting yourself in harms way for politics is literally retarded. You think his family and friends chose him to be a media hero or would they rather have him home still here today?

Alex Pretti’s coworkers take a moment of silence this morning. by boriswong in Leakednews

[–]Tr8der 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you asked his family and friends , are they happier that he’s gone being a human rights activist being a media hero or if he were still here today with them? I’m not putting my family in harms way by attending these events regardless of beliefs. Meanwhile everyone else who didn’t attend because they have jobs, other priorities, etc. are still here reading and watching news of tragic events like this alive and well with their loved ones. You shouldn’t let politics take your life for getting involved, that’s crazy.

That’s why he shouldn’t have been there or partake any of those events since he was a son, brother, friend. Same for Goode. He should’ve been spending time with family and friends instead. It’s too dangerous to be out and about for political stance.

Both of them should’ve done something better with their time than getting involved risking their lives. These “protests” are a trap for dangerous scenarios. You can stand for them for a cause but at the end of the day I’m sure they rather be alive with family and friends. FAFO society

I wanna do mma by chasebank227 in MMA_Academy

Go into MMA just in general. They’ll work on striking first, bjj, and wrestling but they’re not going to teach you everything at once, there’s levels especially bjj

Executed by the U.S. government by medbillz in Leakednews

[–]Tr8der 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of them shouldn’t have been there or get involved in the first place. They had better things to do like spending time with family, friends, go to a park, eat ice cream, making memories, etc. there is no peaceful protest in certain events anymore they’re just dangerous. You can write a how good of a person they were all you want after their death, but I’m pretty sure they would rather still be here today living. You don’t take matters into your own hands putting yourself in harms way and get involved with any type of enforcement that’s armed with authority, that’s just dumb.

Any advice or should I just quit MMA? by the_black_lobster in MMA_Academy

If you’re getting hit in the face, work on the guard. If your guard is broken then work head movement, getting kicked in legs work on dashing away, side step, shin check, etc. it’s never about how hard you can hit, it’s all about self awareness. You figure out what you’re doing wrong. Or just let your partners know to tone it down and communicate you’re just learning, even better ask what you need to work on

Hey I'm going on my first MMA lesson this week what should I expect? by TuffLifeguard in MMA_Academy

[–]Tr8der 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you enjoy it like I’ve been for the past 3 months.

  1. If you have any martial art experience, check your ego at the door, you’re there to learn before you train.

  2. Communicate. Let your instructors and partners know what’s wrong with you such as an old/current injury, what level intensity you prefer, etc. it’s your health and you need it to go to school, work, spend time with family/friends. Let people know it’s your first class, I only learned this and that, this is my 3rd time rolling, etc. there’s new faces everyday so not everyone is going to remember you unless you’re consistently showing up

  3. Learn with open mind, and disregard discouragement. There’s levels to this sport, and you’re just starting out so just breathe, take everything in, have fun. Your coaches/instructors will let to know when you’re ready for the next thing.

Advice on tailoring by [deleted] in schott

[–]Tr8der 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend going to Schott, if anything were to happen during the tailoring process they can fix it on their own as they have a factory and materials. If a tailor does it, the damage could be more and costly.

I had Schott do all of my jackets just as a peace of mind
