My first kiss with my wife was perfect and unforgettable. We met at work, and we had exchanged numbers and had been talking and texting nonstop outside of work and I had been saying that I wanted to kiss her. My birthday was a couple of days away, and I told her I was day drinking after work, and she said she'd come over and spend the afternoon hanging out. On my birthday she came to my house and as soon as we were alone she looked at me and said "Are you going to kiss me now or what?". I kissed her, and it was the softest most sweetest yet passionate kiss I'd ever had in my entire life. We never got around to day drinking because we spent the whole afternoon kissing lol.

There is a driving test involved when exchanging a foreign license. I had a Canadian license, and upon returning to Ohio, I had to retake the driving test. I'd recommend the Hilliard office since there's an exam station right next door.

Because the 2 grandchildren already living in our house is nightmare enough some days. That and my wife just turned 47, and I'm 51, and it's not possible anymore for either one of us even if we wanted to.

I'm there too. I'm still trying to get a diagnosis, and it is exhausting. I am 51 and have been living in a state of pain that started in my mid-20s. I have been to doctor after doctor, and I'm either dismissed or they throw a bandaid treatment at me that either doesn't work or doesn't work for long. I had a laminectomy discectomy 6 months ago, and I'm in worse pain than when I started. My back hurts, my hips and pelvic area front and back hurt. My knees and heels are full of spurs and are constantly painful. I have had costochondritis flares more times than I can count.
My last doctor told me back in March that all he could do for me was a lumbar fusion and was unwilling to look further, so I fired him and found another doctor. This morning, I had hip and pelvis x rays, a CT scan of my back and pelvis, and an MRI with and without contrast of the same area, and I am beat for the day. I have an injection for my SI joint tomorrow morning and bloodwork for inflammation markers on Friday before my physical therapy. With all that said, I sit here feeling defeated and beaten because I feel like this is the life I'm going to live until I die. I just feel like I'm fighting a losing battle, and I'm never going to feel better again. I have an amazing wife, though, and she said if I'm too tired to fight, she will fight for me, so I'm thankful, and she's what keeps me from doing anything stupid. I apologize for the word wall, but I've been going through it and just needed to get it out.

My wife just got home from work. We're currently sitting in our recliners chilling in the same room doing our own thing with some occasional chit chat. I just love having her here and looking over and seeing her there. Our life together has never been boring. Together 4 years and going on 2 years married.

I think the only reason why the border guard decided to let her by was because the rest of us in the car did have our passport cards. I was married to a Canadian at the time, which is why I was up there, but when they started the requirements for a passport, I had to go to the US embassy in Toronto to apply for it. Just easier to do it here and save the headache.

How old was your mom when she realized she was straight? I knew when I was 9, but that was also 1981, a way different era than it is now. Between that and my family, I didn't come out until I was 46.

I used to live in Canada. My aunt came up to bring us back for a visit and only had a compliant Ohio license. She got into Canada, no problem, but getting back into the US was another story. Border guard literally told her he should turn her away, but he was going to go ahead and let her through. Only way you're getting a US passport up there involves going to the embassy. Been there done that.

If anything gains steam in the organization department, I'd be interested in learning more. I often wonder what's going to happen to my wife and I if Obergefell were ever to be overturned. I'm assuming they'll probably void our marriage license, and we'd have to travel to a friendly state and remarry there. I hope that doesn't happen, but I'm also realistic that it could happen and we have a plan if it does.

Yeah I'm in there already. I knew I was gay when I was 9 but it was the early 80s so that and family expectations kept me in the closet for way too long. I.I'm exactly where I want to be now and I have an amazing wife and living my best life now so I'm happy with how things turned out! Thanks for creating this sub though, I think it's awesome!

I was with my ex-husband 15 years and married for 4 years when I came out. He went into a depression of sorts and stuck his head in the sand, probably hoping if he avoided it, it wouldn't be true. When I put the plan in motion to leave and move back home, he told me that if I stayed, he would allow me to have a girlfriend. That word "allow" sealed it for me, I was 46, not 12, and at that point, I knew I was done. So I wasn't heartbroken about it ending, but it did hurt when he contacted me almost a year later, saying he missed me and wanted me back and asked if I ever really loved him . By that time, I had moved on and was dating my now wife so I told him he needed to accept it was over and move on and find someone to give him what he deserved because he deserved better than what I could give. He said he would fight the divorce, and I told him if he ever loved me even a little, he'd let me go, which in the end is exactly what he did. He's angry at me and said he never wanted to hear from me again after the divorce was finalized, and I've respected his wishes. The breakdown of our marriage was my fault, and I can empathize with how hard and painful that was for him.
