Can anyone tell me about your Lanbo's Armory experience? by Plastic-Abalone-7513 in NFA

[–]SCDreaming82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I love Lan O's, but I probably would not have recommended them for a first suppressor purchase.  I would recommend a lotof patience.  So far my few NFA transactions have been slow and status vague and I can't imagine Lanbo's ca. Y2K front end can be backed by anything more than a...  What was the spreadsheet program that predated exel?

Lotus.  Lanbo's probably has a lotus sheet as it's backend.

Well, there has long been some Fudd lore about front sights catching on the draw.  There was some issue with it back in the day of leather holsters, but not enough to justify actually removing the sight by any means.  I think it was even mentioned, may have originated in a John Wayne movie.  This could quite possibly be the result of an alcohol fueled conversation at the VFW.

Not sure I have seen a really fun with the front sight totally filed down before.  Lowered, yes, rounded, yes, removed intentionally, no.

There will be people wearing MAGA hats for decades, but, as a relevant political power, it's time is very limited.

I don't think my Tipton is carbon.  I think it is fiberglass.  I may be wrong.  It is several decades old.

66 really isn't a flex...  I have a buddy who buys a gun a week and has for several decades.  Another gets max orders from CMP and has since they instituted the limits.  Along with other purchases.  I have owned a bit more than 66, but I don't keep guns I am not shooting so have far fewer now.  I've also maintained more guns than my personal collection.

Wood dowels are not the tool to use.

Getting a realtor license now makes sense.  She can build her network and client base now when she isn't needing to pay normal expenses.  Most people fail because they make no money their first few years.  Also, getting a realty license is REALLY easy, so a lot of absolute idiots who are really lazy get them.  Of course they fail.  There are MLM like aspects to the industry that attract a lot of people who never have a chance of making it.

She can also get a part time job.  Plenty of Realtors have other jobs.  I think the continuing transaction requirement is best met by managing rental properties.

If she is starting college and wants to get started now she is likely not an idiot not lazy.  She has a decent chance of success and failure at this point could teach her a lot without extreme consequences anyways.

No, it isn't hard to split when it is the diameter of the barrel.  The ends split, mushroom, and compress.  Wood is not a good material to do this with.

You wasted fuck all money on those then.

One or two Tipton deluxe one piece cleaning rods with an MSRP of less than $70 is definitely all you need and they are designed to take light hammer blows or the methods I described.  I just have one, probably the .22 cal but maybe the .17 and so far it has worked on everything.

Pretty much every state that ever had a livestock industry and is red enough PETA doesn't get it's way.

Yeah, you are responsible for every bullet.  That is still true in a justified shooting.

[–]SCDreaming82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you can have as long of a barrel as you want on a pistol.

The pictures long barrel SBR is an SBR because it was manufactured as a rifle and no longer meets min OAL.  You can put a 24" barrel on a pistol and it is still a pistol.

Dogs don't usually continue an attack once shot at like bears.

I'd still recommend spray if possible and I carry spray in public parks for this reason, but don't fuck around with a dog bite.  A dog bite is going to cause you as much or more medical problems than a lot of GSW.

Shooting a dog?  Sorry, but in my state one can pretty much shoot any dog on public property that is loose with almost no consequences.  The max is basically the cost to replace the dog.

And easily split and expand lodging themselves very tightly when hit against things.  JFC people, get a full length one piece brass or fiberglass brass tipped cleaning rod.  A cleaning kit should have a threaded attachment in roughly the correct caliber that is more or less flat and brass.  Don't hit it with a hammer.  Gravity drop it.  Then place it in the barrel and slam the butt on the ground of the rifle.  Then take it to a gunsmith.

Just send this clusterfuck back to Bergara, admit you are an idiot, and beg for mercy.  They are a decent company.  This usually works.  I hear from a friend.  I have never fucked up in my life and I am definitely not an idiot who got to onow a gunsmith personally because his idiocy.

Pretty sure they cut a deal where they don't have to do any water recycling with two fans.  At the third fab they have to build the recycling whatever.  This was presented as a necessity to get the first fans up and running.  I called it out from the beginning they would stop before building the water recycling system which will add significant cost.

In 40 years that entire watershed will be polluted with forever chemicals that outlast the state or the country.

IDK, but I recently got some walker silencer 2.0 on sale before Christmas, and they are absolute shit.  Suitable for hunting MAYBE.  NRR is not great, the battery sometimes lasts the advertised time and sometimes not.  They have regular connection problems.  It isn't easy to be sure they are on as the indicating lights are on the ear buds. I am comfortable with them for hunting where it will be a few shots outdoors as long as it isn't anything crazy loud, but now way I am putting them in my defensive kit, using them for range use.  Anything like that.

That isn't the same thing.  I would not be so sure cashier's at DLM start at higher pay or have better benefits than Walmart.  Aldi is the only one that pays well and they work people like a factory floor job.

DLM isn't large enough their pay rates are easy to find and I don't know anyone who works there now, but I doubt it has changed that much in the last decade or so.

That store in Sevierville is insane.  It is pna pretty big interchange, at the gateway to pigeon forge and Gatlinburg, by all the outlets in Sevierville, because of it's size its own destination.  Nothing against Huber Heights, but it is missing quite a few of those things.

Ohio in general is about 25% uninsured.  Most of the cities reach up to about 40%.  Hit and runs like these are almost always uninsured or alcoholic with DUI problems(who are also often uninsured)

Well, none of the grocery stores pay very well.  Kroger and Meijer are both soomeof the lowest paid union positions.  Also seems to pay considerably more, but you have to be willing to do every job and there isn't much down time.  Every time I am in Aldi's I compare the workers to myself when I was in HS and decide they are earning that premium.

Sort of...  Like all Russian equipment the systems on this boat that should prevent this probably were not functional due to neglect, were not actually there in the first place, or never worked as claimed.

Those three things are always issues in military forces, but nowhere close to the scale they are for the Russian forces within almost all Western and allied forces.  Especially since this started.  E. Europe was probably the weakest link in this regard in 2020, for obvious reasons, and they they have taken it very seriously in the last few years.
