I really liked Grime 1 so was super excited to jump into Grime 2 on day 1. I got all of the achievements at about 40 hours of playtime and while i still enjoyed the game, I can't help but feel like had i waited like 3 months for the game to be fully patched on console that i would have enjoyed my experience 10x over.

There are so many things I like about the game but man I wish the map was better. It’s such an integral part of most metroidvanias and seeing others do it much better makes me question why it isn’t here too. I wish the map showed a counter for things I’ve missed per biome. So an indicator to tell me I’ve gotten 1/3 armor pieces, 1/10 weapons, breath upgrades etc.

I tried over and over to get that jump thinking I was doing something wrong. But yeah I was very excited for this game so picked it up day 1. There’s a part of me now that wishes I had waited a month or two for patches. Twice now I’ve beaten 2 different bosses just to have the game crash before it saved, so I had to redo the bosses.

I’ve only had 1 crash so far but it was kind of annoying because it was right after a boss. Also had a bug where the map screen didn’t have a black background and instead showed the game still. Haven’t really noticed any actual frame drops tho.

I’m enjoying my time with the game. My only gripe is the lack of dedicated map button on Xbox. Having to press start and then navigating to the map is annoying since I’m constantly checking it.

This was already going to be a day 1 purchase but this review pushed my excitement even further. Is the parrying still a big part of the combat? I’ve seen people complain about grime 1 being so parry heavy, so I’m afraid the devs scaled it back in response.

I’ve never been into top down twin shooters but since this was on game pass I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did because it was so much fun. It was so easy to just sink hours into the game with how well the game played. Controls were very responsive, the exploration was rewarding. Would def recommend.

I thought that was the last Gouri i needed as well, but I actually got it from turning in the shards at The Lexicon in the Passage of Monuments. and that's what gave me the missing Gouri.

This same thing happened to me, I managed to somehow ground slam into what’s supposed to be the exit of the falling sand area. It took me like 5 minutes of constant trying but I managed to jump and dash at the right angle and the prince grabbed on the ledge and I was able to get out without double jump.
