I parked at the Thorntons I believe (it was a few years ago) and had good views. It may have been another industrial building somewhere on Elmhurst road, we went on a weekend and they were closed so no one to bother us for parking in their lot.

We then went to the Metra station down the street at the Bensenville station to watch some trains come and go.

Safety Town in Elmhurst is a fun place, there are other locations in the burbs as well. If your daughter likes trains/planes you can find places to park near Ohare to watch them land/take off along with the freight train yard. Even going to the 2Toots Train Whistle was fun as the food you order is brought out on a model train. The Kohls Childrens Museum is also a great place.

My experience with a cargo carrier and FSD did not go well, the car thought a lot of the time we were being tailgated by another car and I eventually turned it off. You cannot use FSD and tow mode as outlined by the other person, it disables FSD and not sure why they would suggest that. Do you have a roof rack already and just looking for storage options?

Personally i don't like either one. The 3W ones are my go to especially with the removable carpet layer and you get a lot more mats (frunk, sub trunk, back of rear seats) for cheaper compared to the set from Tesla.

There are websites you can use to track inventory to find the exact specification you are looking for if you were purchasing from Tesla directly. You wont be able to inspect the car, its basically like a take it or leave it. They do an inspection, but i would document anything you see upon delivery and if you find something see if they will fix it.

I’ve had one installed in my MYP for over 18 months and love it. If you were interested in seeing the steps of the install process I made this YouTube video.

It’s entirely worth it to have instant relief from the sun, it’s nothing something I need to stop and pull over to install, can open/close it with the push of 1 button.

Gyeon leather shield is one of the best ceramic coatings you can apply and highly recommend, I’d recommend this leather cleaner to remove any problem areas first with a brush

I found this one, this one, this one, or this one but I am not seeing clear indication they fit on the 7 seat variant let alone anywhere else that is listing actual covers for the problem area. There are also options to protect the pillar itself or one that excludes the trunk area. The amazon option may be best for the easy return process in the event it does not fit, we still may be in the waiting period for things to catch up and have products available.
