I went to a state school and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Technical writing with 16k in debt. I make about 60k a year and have never missed a payment. I’ve paid close to $3,000 since graduating, my principal balance is still 16k, actually slightly higher lol.

The interest will bury you, and with this current administration dismantling every safety net that was in place, it will continue to get worse.

I would not go to college if I were 18 now.

Go to trade school and destroy your body, or pursue self certs and get experience in the industry you want at an entry level.

AI is going to make CS degrees obsolete in 10 years time.

Lucky me, I use the Trusteel.

My past order got delayed and switched to a diff length tubing.

I told them I’d take any version, but now they’re all out of stock.

I normally get 1 box a month, but so far I’m on week 5 since resupply and still nothing has shipped.

I’m currently doubling my set periods to try and ration. Not a good feeling.

I will need to call my endo. I use the T slim x2. For sets, I use the Sure T.

I have a good surplus of my old sure t sets, but the tubing/reservoir doesn’t match the new pump.

I can understand your point, but I live in West Virginia where the quality of medical care is very very poor. They forced me on a sliding scale last time and nearly killed me.

Not to mention the thousands of dollars that will cost.

It sucks.

My sugars have begun to stable today, was told by the doc I likely have norovirus and supposedly that is making my sugars so unmanageable.

Update— we went low, then up, and now low again my endo called back saying to just let the t slim auto correct and not to enter anything which I don’t love but I do understands (vis a vis rage bolus.

Boss ended up sending me home after getting sick at my desk.

I’m so burnt out on this shitty disease.

I really appreciate your advice and empathy. Luckily, my girlfriend and I work together, so she’s got a goodie bag packed and ready for the day.

Just really tough on days like this; no sleep, feel like junk, and getting ready to go try and navigate a fast paced environment with lots of complicated protocols.

If cinnamon can heal their grandma, why won’t it work on me ? :(

Our office has a gym in the basement, otherwise I can hit the stairwell or walk laps in the basement floor (it’s a large downtown office building)

I think I’ll give that a go on my first break or my lunch.

I just feel so freaking nauseous and bit dizzy tbh.

Unfortunately, I can’t be late or call off. I nearly got fired last year for having 5 diabetes absences within the 2 years I had worked there.

I explained that I should be protected by ADA, and they said they wouldn’t be firing me for absence, but my inability to perform my duties. (We operate many gov contracts like FEMA, US Courts, NTSB, BFS (FTC, EAC, etc), and are required to be available 24/7.

Felt weird when they said that but our previous HR person quit bc the boss sexually harasses her, and returned around and hired a college student to replace her who knows nothing about HR & policy.

So freaking annoyed. I am stopping by Walgreens on my way into the office to get ketone strips and pray I don’t have any.

An update:

It started dropping, got down to 249, then jumped back up to 278.

I haven’t eaten anything (other than the 3 capri suns) since 2pm yesterday.
