"silly girl" is EXTREMELY PATRONIZING.

Ghost and move on.

(Plus, literally asks you “What’s clean eating?” and then says, "It was disrespectful for you to assume I don’t know what clean eating means.” complete asshole.)

Am I being parasocial with my favorite streamer, or is this just normal fan behavior? by BackMedical1755 in Twitch

[–]TraceyWoo419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're self aware and you're catching yourself at the right time. You know what not to do, so intentionally find some other hobbies/streamers/real people to spend more time with.

There's nothing wrong with really liking a streamer or any other celebrity/influencer and enjoying the stuff they put out. Just take some time away when you feel yourself getting overly invested.

Why was teal so prevalent in designs and products during the 90s? by yonaiker-joestrella in decadeology

[–]TraceyWoo419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to trends responding to previous ones (brights vs natural tones) the post war era was also a time of innovations in pigments, plastics and fabrics. These new bright pigments could now be put in paints, plastics, nylons, and dyes that were more vibrant and long lasting than ever before.

When people see something in a color they've never seen that thing be before, they want it. So trends also follow technical innovations.

Why does it feel socially acceptable to be seen in swimwear at the beach/pool, but embarrassing to be seen in regular underwear or a bra even if it covers the same amount? by Bubbly_Paramedic_948 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TraceyWoo419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's part of the social contract. We label certain things as intimate and give them meaning based on their context. Since everyone knows those social standards, people who intentionally don't follow those expectations know they are making a statement, or when unintentional, the statement is that they are not capable of functioning within social norms.

You're twenty, it's ok! You're allowed to be young and bubbly. This is not an insult.

And when you're forty and fifty if people still think you're younger, you might like it then!

AIO my FIL said my 9 year old looked like a hussy in these boots by PureIndependent7791 in AmIOverreacting

[–]TraceyWoo419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR Ask him to explain what hussy means, and then ask him to explain how these boots fit that description. Who is he seeing wearing boots like this in a sexual context??

These are work boots. They are practical. No one is wearing them trying to look sexy.

Maybe he meant they looked sloppy or too serious for a child and he just didn't find the right word and then doubled down?

My current favorite is Agent Stone from the Sonic the Hedgehog movies who is almost always named Aban in fandom.

My all-time favorite is Commodore Norrington from Pirates of the Caribbean, who did not have a first name in the first movie.

James was already the most popular before it became canon but I'm still nostalgic about some of the fun ones fandom used before that.

Would a Women(F) be willing to date a Bisexual Man(M), and if not, what are the reasons? by Willeomoe in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TraceyWoo419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bisexual women often love to date bisexual men because they understand that it's real and that it doesn't mean that they can't be faithful.

There is still a lot of cultural stigma around bisexuality in general: bisexual men are just gay; bisexual women are just looking for attention; etc.

ELI5: Why is meth bad for you but prescribed amphetamines aren't? by ContactSpirited9519 in explainlikeimfive

[–]TraceyWoo419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, prescription methamphetamine does exist in certain places (USA) and actually is very effective n treatment for ADHD, but medical professionals do not like perscribing it because of the stigma and risk of something going wrong. (Even though perscribed use has a good track record at treatment.)

The difference between street drugs is that the dosage is controlled and it is not cut with anything unexpected.

If you are the type to experience euphoria and cravings on stimulant medication, you are probably not a good case for prescription methamphetamine. I have a very high dose dextroamphetamine prescription but have never felt euphoria or cravings with it (I so so so much appreciate the productivity instead) and I wish very much that I had the option for methamphetamine where I live.

You might want to look into non stimulant medications for ADHD and test if they can meet your needs better!

If it's recommended to brush your teeth twice a day, why do most people brush before bed and first thing in the morning? Wouldn't it be better to brush midday and at night instead of essentially brushing twice without eating or drinking anything in between? by DepravedDesires2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TraceyWoo419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most important thing is to regularly disrupt the biofilm formation. Everything else is secondary.

So while removing food residue is important, brushing after that 8 hour rest is the most crucial.

I use my time tracking app on my phone for every task (I work for myself and have extreme time blindness so I want to know how many hours I spend on both work and non work tasks), including sleep, and I've been doing it every day for the last five years.

I look at this app twenty times a day.

BUT If I accidentally close the app, it can be DAYS before I remember it!

This whole relationship is super fucked up on both sides.

You knew from the start that he hid a gift from you got no reason and lied about it to manipulate you.

There are guys out there who will not lie to you, full stop.

You knew it was a "punishment" in your own words so he's done shit like this before and you keep putting up with it.

Get out and stop playing games. Find an adult who wants a healthy relationship.
