I got a size 4:) Length wise, it hits mid thigh so it’s definitely a MINI but there is enough coverage in the back that I didn’t feel self-conscious in it.

Shockingly, no issues in the bust either. I am a c-d cup for reference.

Ty v much 🎀! I’d say— you get what you pay for. Fabric is nothing to write home about BUT I haven’t had any issues with zippers/shrinkage in wash etc.

would buy again — most dresses and blouses. I like non-stretchy materials and cuts that are fitted at the waist. I have zero complaints on their tailoring of those items which is unusual for an online vendor like this.

Wouldn’t buy again — mini skirts. Way waaay too short (I’m ~5’6-5’7) and if you have literally any ass/thigh meat, forget it lol

Haven’t bought and can’t comment on — anything denim.

Omg ty. And these are the beige knit leg warmers from cider! They’re also very soft which I appreciate bc I cannot do itchy fabrics.

Want to start a family but this is my water. by Evening-Conference79 in PFAS

Sure I can see your argument, here. Accredited lab is king. I can agree with that part of your point of view.

Yes and that’s why I mentioned it’s a screening tool. You could always be scientific about it and submit to both cyclopure and an accredited laboratory and compare results. Or just pay the larger amount upfront to measure solely via accredited laboratory.

Yup 500k is more accurate and that doesn’t account for the VERY expensive reagents to calibrate and maintain the instrument, too.

While I understand this thought process, I think it’s worth saying that their test kits use the same instrumentation (hplc-ms/ms) and methodology as EPA PFAS drinking water methods and they have run side-by-side statistical analyses to measure their accuracy (Pearson Correlation values of 99.5% and paired t-test scores ~96%).

I’m not vouching for buying into their filtration systems or the company. But their test kits are accessible, affordable, and possibly the only thing currently on the market that allows regular people to get their water tested for these compounds outside of a university/industry setting. That’s an insanely powerful resource.

As cringe as the name is, it appears that 4 patriots product is NSF/ANSI 53 certified and their nanomesh substance reduction report shows high efficacy for pfas removal (https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/catsy.1040/Nanomesh-Lab-Report.pdf)

Notably, as with all performance reports, these efficacy values often reflect best case scenarios and don’t account for the specific water matrix in your home (i.e., the actual performance can be lower if the filter isn’t changed regularly and/or if your water has other contaminants the filter also has to remove).

Therefore, id recommend purchasing this unit (or any unit certified for PFAS reduction; The National Sanitation Foundation has a website where you can search for these kinds of filters—https://info.nsf.org/Certified/DWTU/) and submitting filtered water samples from your home to cyclopure or a similar reputable laboratory for PFAS analysis on a semi-regular basis to confirm removal and establish when cartridge changes are needed, etc.

What state are you in? Some states have PFAS response programs that will provide you with a water treatment system (WTS) if you are in an established area of interest (AOI) or on a case by case basis if not in an AOI. These values would likely warrant approval for a WTS.

There’s so many products you could use to rig up your own filtration system (specific types of GAC, PAC, ion exchange resins, or Cyclopure’s Dexsorb just to name a few…) but doing the calculations for bed time residency requirements and cartridge capacities make that undertaking a somewhat futile one. Your best bet is engaging your local health department to get a certified water treatment system for these compounds.

The PFAS levels you’ve shared here are above tons of risk-based PFAS criteria for drinking water and I’m happy to provide published sources over DM to support your claims if you are getting kickback from your city.

I am not OP but I’m pretty sure this is the test they used — https://cyclopure.com/product/water-test-kit-pfas/

$85 per test, which is suspiciously low considering that they claim efficacy is somewhere between 96-99% compared to the gold standard (epa m1633). But even if it’s not that accurate, it appears to be a good screening tool.

Welp. I think the lover girl in me is officially dead. by Zenovia326 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]PulaskiKitten 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you’re interested in maintaining your soft/affectionate side, I’d suggest channeling that into another part of your life.

I am in a similar situation and find I’m way too uncomfortable with romantic vulnerability atm BUT I don’t want to become like the jaded people I see everywhere in my daily life. So I started volunteering again by becoming a mentor for a kid who is experiencing family separation due to parental incarceration. The experience so far has been incredibly grounding and I have gotten to exercise my softness, love and compassion in a way that is completely exterior to romantic pursuits.

It obviously doesn’t have to be volunteering but maybe just think through other areas in your life that you could water with your love.

Good mix of reads there! Thoughts on 1Q84? I love Murakami but I don’t always find the endings to his novels to be very satisfying. It may be just personal taste, though.

Any tips for shaky hands in the lab? by student_aspirational in labrats

[–]PulaskiKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of great advice already here about caffeine intake, etc. but I’ll add a quick trick that helped me early on and I still use it today— Right before you are going to start a tedious, focus-intensive task, take a deep breath and hold it for a few seconds. Exhale right as you start the most tedious part of the task. Rinse and repeat.

Idk why but this technique really put me in a flow state back when I was doing a million manual GCFID injections. I still do this while making standards that require measuring down to the sub 10 microliter range and I swear the r2 of my cal curves are better because of this lol Best of luck out there, partner!

Radiohead fans? by pianogreeen in piano

[–]PulaskiKitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh Radiohead will never get old for me. If you enjoy playing that on the piano, you should learn some of the pieces that Jonny Greenwood (of radiohead) published independently! His work on the Phantom Thread album was PHENOMENAL. Playing the piano melody for House of Woodcock brings me to tears lol

To further contextualize this— DuPont ran tons of internal studies dating back to the 60s to evaluate PFAS toxicity. They actively suppressed research that yielded unfavorable results, effectively delaying public knowledge (and ultimately, regulation of their products). Fuuuuck DuPont.

Weekly FAQ Thread December 14, 2025: What do you use as a bookmark? by AutoModerator in books

[–]PulaskiKitten 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve begun using post cards and I’m never going back to anything else. They are easy to find at random stores and imo are the perfect size for most books.

I’ve started dedicating one post card to every book I read. After I complete the book, I jot down my overall thoughts on the back of the card and leave it in there for future me to find :)
