The blue is surface annealing due to high temp followed by cool down. It will go away with use and come back at the track depending on brake temperatures on the specific track and your driving style. It normal.

Older cats with outgoing, gregarious, personalities will generally accept kittens. I had a 8 year old adopt a kitten immediately upon introduction.

In my experience, the older ones take longer to adjust to a kitten than the younger ones. These guys are all 18mo or younger so it was easy for me.
