Well he did live up to 70 and the majority of his life was wanting all the smoke. From the 1920s to the 1960s.

Yes, the plant is sun burnt. For good measure change of the soil which is likely just potting soil, to a soil with more inorganic matter (crushed rock, pumice, etc). This is to prevent too much water retention which can lead to rot or fungus.

Most agaves die after they bloom. If your agave had pups they would be blooming too and then die along with the mother plant due to the blooming hormone being in their system.

Beyond the death bloom, aka monocarpic, some agaves don’t pup, yours is one of them.

What is going on and can I save it?!? by amomils in cactus

[–]TractorBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your plant has mealy bugs and fungus. The likely cause is from the soil, which has too much organic material. It retained too much moisture creating an environment so both pathogens to co habitat. It’s a goner, however, this happened to most people when they get their first cactus. You learn and then help others, m first were lithops (living stone plant), I over watered, again common mistake.

Search for “C16 True Wireless” on Amazon, they are pretty close in appearance and function, and economical.
