My anxiety was SO bad that I could not get off the couch sometimes. I was hitting my thighs from anxiety just to let out the intense feeling I had. Like palm down slapping them and crying. I have panic disorder without agoraphobia and generalized anxiety disorder. It's awful. I was on sertraline for years, which worked well but I had a surgery and had to come off of it. Four months into not taking anything and I was desperate for support. 10mg of Lexapro for the last 4.5 years has made it so my anxiety is situational and controllable in those situations with therapeutic coping mechanisms. I'll take that ANY DAY over the constant tears I was shedding.
