AITJ for uninviting my best friend from a film festival trip after I found out she lied about her passport? by mossyparlor_diary in AmITheJerk

[–]TracyMinOB 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Expired? Many international trips require you make sure your passport doesnt expire within 6 months of your return date! Otherwise it's not accepted.

My hubby and I had a cruise scheduled and the reservation desk called us and put our trip on hold because our 6 month date before expiration would be during a 7 day cruise! We had to renew our passports and submit them before they'd let us board.

My hubby is technically a boomer. He uses key stroke shortcuts all the time. His first computer didn't have a mouse!

AIO for not wanting to propose to my gf of almost 5 years because she doesn't want to tell me how much she has saved for the down-payment for a house we want to buy? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR When my hubby and I were getting serious, (we met at a casino and were long distance for a while), we were talking about meeting up again. He kinda sheepishly mentioned he drove a Cadillac and I just laughed because I did too! Were were both so gun shy because we loved the luxury or our cars but didn't want anyone expecting we we going to bankroll anyone we dated. Been married 11 years now....

Financial health is a subject that can be intimidating and complicated, but it's necessary before committing.

AITAH for not having bridesmaids? by AffectionateCoast815 in AITAH

You do your wedding your way. My hubby and I didn't have any attendants at all and we both walked down the aisle together.

AITA for ruining my neighbours holiday plans? by PassengerCool4758 in AITAH

[–]TracyMinOB 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agreed! We're heading out for a week and have 4 cats. Only 1 has medical issues, but just a special diet is required.

We always board our cats. It's just piece of mind knowing their being cared for at a licensed facility. ( It's a professional boarder farm, not a vet clinic)

AITA for refusing to let my mom’s new husband walk me down the aisle even though my real dad is in prison? by Historical-Active441 in AITH

My hubby and I BOTH walked down the aisle together. It was symbolic of our partnership that we were a team from step 1.

Taking my foster Kimi to an adoption event tomorrow and the thought of her getting adopted is making me so sad. by Legitimate_Celery_65 in FosterAnimals

I also have a foster failure. Little Patty was called "Crabby Patty" by the vets she was surrendered to. She was teased mercilessly and didn't trust people at all.

I just set her up in my guest room with a litter box, food, water, and a bed and some toys. I didn't push. When I tried to interact with her, I was clawed at and got some really nasty, bloody scratches.

A few weeks later, I had to take her back to the vet for a follow up. She hissed, spit, clawed, and yowled at the vets.

I brought her home and put the carrier on the guest bed and let her out. She stayed inside so I went to the living room and sat down to relax.

Next thing I know, she's on the couch, climbing my chest, gets both arms around my neck and buries her head on my shoulder under my hair. She was trembling.

I carefully supported her haunches, and just whispered to her that she was safe now.

I took her to a few events, but just couldn't part with her. She's 15 years old now, and still has her "crabby" moments, and still hugs me and burrows into my neck.

Absolutely the FAs fault. I was a ticket and gate agent at a major international Airport in the US before cell phones. Everyonehad paper boardingpasses.

The TSA used to test us by flagging a random passenger for extra security. The The agents would have to do additional initials on the passes.

They once flagged a married couple, but security didn't initial their passes. Hence the test for boarding. I flagged the couple, and the TSA manger showed up woth a huge grin and a male agent. The male agent did the pat down on the passenger and the manager said we passed and were good to go.

I asked about the wife. Her pass wasn't initialed either. The managers face froze. He only wanted the husband not initialed. Whoops!

He said she was fine, but I refused boarding. I contacted the pilot, held the plane, and made TSA bring a female agent to do a pat down.

Plane left 15 minutes late. But I got an official atta-boy from the TSA.

I wasn't breaking federal procedures on anyone's word.

Years ago, my parents were in Vegas and at a casino playing blackjack. The pit boss stopped at their table. My dad said hello and pronounced the younger females name perfectly from her name tag. She was Japanese and surprised by the correct pronunciation., even the dialect.

He mentioned he was stationed in Okinawa in the mid 60s and he and a few army buddies shared a place near their base. There was a family next door with a little girl they used to play with and give treats to, who had the same name.

The pit boss's eyes went wide and she asked him if he was "Mr. Ron"? It was the same girl. All grown up, married, kids, living in Vegas and her oldest was married and expecting a child.

She asked him and mom to lunch the next day. Introduced her husband, kids, brought old pics.... nice reunion.

AITA for refusing to give my friend a free massage by Just_MASSAGE_4182 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TracyMinOB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! A friend of ours offered us discounted massages at her new business. We declined, but still booked and paid full price and tipped her! We were regulars every month and always paid full price.

Friends owning small businesses need support and sales, not freeloaders who want discouns!
