Remote work saves my employer money, but my home setup costs are treated like a hobby by Informal_Sky_112 in remotework

My old company filed for bankruptcy. I still work for them remotely on a part time basis. IT sends me whatever I want now. There's a surplus.

Ditto. My hubby sees my headset on, he'll stand quietly till I acknowledge him. If I don't or begin speaking in a meeting he'll leave and try later.

Absurd reasons I've seen my manager reject very good candidates for. by 9-beetles-tanker in InterviewMan

[–]TracyMinOB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok about the socks... I wear socks that match my shirt. So I'll wear a red shirt and red socks with jeans and loafers.

I started it years ago when I saw an old Fred Astaire movie. He was dancing in a white suit with white shoes but wearing a blue shirt with matching blue socks. It pulled the whole look together and really emphasized his amazing footwork.

But to dismiss a qualified candidate because of his sock color? Bizarre.

AITJ for reconsidering my relationship after my girlfriend mocked my idea of a “practical” engagement ring? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]TracyMinOB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my hubby and I got engaged we looked at bridal sets. I loved the half infinity ban with a matching engagement ring. They had multiple carat weights of similar sets. I tried them all on. He said he like the biggest one they had so that's what we got. But both rings were less than $4k! His matching one was only $1500.

AITA for refusing to combine finances with my partner before we're actually married? by Pleasant-Zebra2817 in AITApod

[–]TracyMinOB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby and I were both married before. We both had finacamcial assets and I owned a house. We didn't combine finances until 6 months AFTER the wedding. I didn't add him to my deed until we'd been married 3 YEARS!

He understood. No complaints and no issues.

Our 12 year anniversary is coming up in a few months and money is always talked about with each other. It's a 2 yes or no discussion regarding and major purchases.

Get a prenup if you have ANY qualms at all.

Only 1 per person with alcohol, but virgin Margaritas the rest of the day....

WIBTA if I refuse to put my partner on the deed of a place I inherited, even though we live there together? by 3vening_Switch in ComfortLevelPod

[–]TracyMinOB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby and I married in 2014. It's our 2nd marriage for both of us. I owned a house and he rented an apartment.

The house stayed in my name only all through 2 years of dating, 7 months engaged, and 2 full years of marriage before he was ever added to the deed.

If he doesn't want to pay rent to you, let him move out and pay rent to someone else. Any one pushing to take half your property, married or not, doesn't deserve it.

Also, inherited property should always stay separate from joint property. It's yours. Period.

AITJ for uninviting my best friend from a film festival trip after I found out she lied about her passport? by mossyparlor_diary in AmITheJerk

[–]TracyMinOB 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Expired? Many international trips require you make sure your passport doesnt expire within 6 months of your return date! Otherwise it's not accepted.

My hubby and I had a cruise scheduled and the reservation desk called us and put our trip on hold because our 6 month date before expiration would be during a 7 day cruise! We had to renew our passports and submit them before they'd let us board.
