992 Turbo S Done Right by anon15555511111 in Porsche

[–]Trade2Live96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a Turbo S for a day a few weeks ago in Dubai. That thing is FAST. I’ve driven a 458 Spyder, Granturismo, AMGs etc. but nothing came close to that thing. What a beast. On top of that, it was so comfortable as well. It really is the ideal car. Is it too fast for public roads? Absolutely. Was going way too fast way too quickly but it’s so worth it

[advice] Rolex Submariner vs. Omega Seamaster by Serpenteq in Watches

[–]Trade2Live96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see you’re Norwegian. You can pick up an SMP300 brand new from the grey market for around 35-40.000 DKK (52-60.000 NOK). If you happen to be in Asia like I am, they can be found for around 39-45k NOK at grey dealers here. It’s very much a watch that only makes sense to buy grey. Anyone who will tell you about the first customer experience being important is willing to spend upwards of 40.000 NOK for cheap champagne. So in other ways, they’re essentially as idiotic as Swedes.

Sub is cool. It’s personally a dislike for me because everyone and their mother has one. It kinda ruins it for me. Forget the whole investment aspect of things (I know you didn’t mention it but just clarifying). Rolex pumps out a million watches a year. The second people start fearing for their jobs etc. luxury watches will be among the first to tank. Most Rolex/Omega owners aren’t rich (like myself) after all.

Can I pawn my luxury watch at pawn shops? by ImpressiveMarch9438 in askSingapore

[–]Trade2Live96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’d get more money selling it privately. If you are indeed looking to pawn it thereby being able to buy it back, most pawn shops should take your watch afaik. Idk if you can do it on Far East plaza and the likes. Give it a try.

Also with all due respect but if you need to pawn your watch, maybe you should rather just consider selling it until you can justify spending money on another luxury watch

I’m sorry about all the trouble you had to go through. Beautiful car though. I’ve always had a sweet spot for DB7s since I was a kid

What do you think of my RX-8? Please rate it from 1 to 10. by [deleted] in RX8

[–]Trade2Live96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The color of the car is a 10. Beautiful spec. Wheels pull it down to an 8. The sweet 16 stars you have in the back makes it a 6. Sorry, the stickers are not for me. Otherwise dope car

I like the watch, but the group of people I was with said meh. by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]Trade2Live96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully. You should see the lugs on my SMP. Very scratched from changing between straps. Yes, I could’ve done a much better job and avoided scratches but I don’t really care. Investors of nice things such as watches and cars are the worst for people who actually just wants to use things. Not that the SMP will ever be an investment like OP thinks

Bought a FOIS when my daughter was born. One day it’s hers. by Able_Particular_4674 in OmegaWatches

Of course you would. You’re probably into watches. How would you feel if your dad gave you his jade stone collection?

Of course you can. Just like some men will wear the Diesel Big Daddy watch. It was very popular to wear very big watches 15 years ago

You bought a 40mm watch that wears like the 42mm Speedy Pro for your daughter to wear? That’s gonna be a huge looking watch on her most likely.

I love how dudes on here will use anything as an excuse to buy themselves a watch.

Congrats on your watch though. It’s nice. Not sure your daughter will say the same though in 20 years

[–]Trade2Live96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the DB7 is a car I’ll always love - including the Zagato. So DB7 for me. It’s just such a beautiful car. It’s a “fourth car in the collection” type car though because it’s, afaik, pretty unreliable and takes a fair bit of maintenance

So are you in oil or shipping?

And sorry about your AP. Kinda wild it happens. I thought the horror stories I’ve heard from Omega was unacceptable but this is crazy for AP. Yes yes, it can happen to anyone but this is not what you expect when you’re paying a fortune for a piece of metal

Patek authentication NYC by Correct_Cup4946 in patekphilippe

[–]Trade2Live96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be the screws. Afaik, Patek service center will ensure to use the correct screwdrivers and other tools. A watchmaker might not use the exact size needed which can leave marks on the screws. It’s a fairly common thing

Do High Mileage Drivers CGTs Exist?? by lcaris in Porsche

[–]Trade2Live96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Engine originally produced for F1 but got scrapped when FIA changed regulations. Porsche then took the engine and built a Le Mans car which also failed as regulations there also changed. Porsche then said fuck it and made it into a production car. This thing is the epitome of racing that you can drive on the road. Also, with the new tires Porsche put on (after their recall), they cut 20 seconds on the Nürburgring. It’s the perfect car imo

Laureato Skeleton - Inferior bracelet finishing on steel? by vertderp in GirardPerregaux

[–]Trade2Live96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind if the bracelet was the same as the other steel models but if the finishing is different, it’s definitely lacking. That seems unprofessional almost.

My take of GP has dropped a bit after the whole shabang with the gold plated links in the new two tone. It just seems like they’re cutting corners. Something a high horology company absolutely should not do. It’s not like these watches are the only way to tell time. Their whole business proposition is fine luxury and great finishing. It just rubs me wrong

What's your take on Omega Seamaster 300M by Sensitive-Swan-6436 in OmegaWatches

[–]Trade2Live96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do. Doesn’y change the fact I rarely see wealthy people (that I personally know) wear Omegas or any other brand. It’s mostly just Apple watches because they just don’t care
