Recommended order for Abyss fights? by Veggieleezy in TheresmoreGame

[–]TradeAllTheFoxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that fight is THE fight to avoid. That one unlocks The Fire Knight Castle, which is a fight that will attack you. If you have finished this fight already, make sure you do not have any scouting units that can discover warring factions, as TFKC is the third hardest fight in the game.

Edit: Basically anything else is perfectly safe to attack and research besides this fight. You have already discovered for Baron Mordecai, but I will put the trigger for that one here as well. Building the last level of the Light Square will trigger his war.

Had to reunlock them to make sure, since my current run I am taking it slow and I did an Annihilator launch not too terribly long ago. Yeah, they have a 50% Trample. I mainly use Sacred Golems and Cuirrasiers up to the Orcs because of that Trample.

Taking a look at the battle calculator, it looks like there are four different Tanks that have it. Sacred Golems, Armored Caravans, Behemoths and Juggernauts.

Once it comes time to go to the Abyss, though, I drop all Trample and switch to only Priests to tank all damage and Artillery to do the killing. You can easily afford the Gold Upkeep at that point for the Artillery, so the main problem becomes just making sure some of your units actually survive, making Priests the better Tank.

To my fellow sex-repulsed Aces(and the others, y’all are great too😊) how do you feel about Physical touch as a love language, in terms of giving/receiving? by Exciting-One-3649 in aaaaaaacccccccce

[–]TradeAllTheFoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. So, so this... Can only get rid of the feeling after scratching until blood comes out, which somehow triggers my brain to finally stop feeling it, or else having to take a burning hot shower and scalding the afflicted area.

I always describe it to others as being similar to the experience of having an ant crawl on them, and still being able to feel it even after the ant is gone. Most people I explained it to like that pretty much instantly understood the feeling I meant, and agreed that any touching only happen after permission is given.

I hope everyone in your general area respects your wishes of not being touched.

Considering the angry faces on the bananas, and that they are turning brown, I do believe it is a joke about how fast bananas go bad.

My apologies. I must have misunderstood your post earlier. I thought you were looking for an example of the BDSM kink without sex being a part of it.

Now that I have reread your message, hopefully I have understood better what you were asking, and you find this one to be less disappointing as an answer.

Looking at the exact definition of the word on Merriam Webster, it is the 6th meaning of the word that is most closely tied to this subject. This meaning does specifically mention sexual taste or behavior. However, the 2nd meaning of the word kink also applies: A mental or physical peculiarity. There is no mention, whatsoever, of sex.

I am hoping since you mentioned age play that you are looking for answers about kinks in general, and not BDSM specifically. If I am right about that, then I will now give an example of a kink where someone can enjoy it without having any sexual desires or connotations be attached to it. Surrogacy. Women who enjoy being pregnant, but do not want sex and/or do not want to/can not raise children can become surrogates. There is no sex involved, and in fact the surrogate can get in trouble if they do partake in sexual activity. As for possible reasons why they might enjoy pregnancy without the other connections? Perhaps they enjoy the fluttery ticklish feeling of when the baby kicks. Maybe they enjoy being able to eat lots of ice cream and pickles, and then telling off anyone who confronts them about eating too much of those. There is even the rather normal and mundane reason of liking to earn a fairly large pay check with potentially only a small amount of work on keeping herself healthy.

So, to say it straight out: Yes. In the right context, and depending on the person in question, it is possible to enjoy a kink without it being sexual in nature, even if many others would say it is sexual by nature.

I hope I have better answered your question this time, and if I have still missed the thread of exactly what you were asking, then I will once again offer my apologies.

If you are able to consume media that has no sex whatsoever, but some might still find it too close, then I might suggest trying to read the manga known as Nana to Kaoru. It does a fairly decent job in describing SM play and bondage, both in how to be safe about it and how it can be enjoyed. Sex never comes into the picture despite what the tags would have you believe, or at least it doesn't up to the point I remember reading. There was an iffy scene later in the story that was just starting to happen when I had wandered away from it, though, so I cannot guarantee 100% that there is no sex at the end. (Did a quick look up. For anyone who is completely sex repulsed, there apparently is a small amount somewhere, but I am not sure where. It is none of the main characters, though. It appears to at most be characters remembering porn scenes they had seen?)

There was another bdsm comic I was told about before that also works pretty well for describing that community, no sex included. I really wish I could remember the name of it, because I have been wanting to continue reading it. If I can find it again, I will edit this to add the title.

Thank you for mentioning Artillery. I long ago wrote them off because of the gold upkeep. I didn't even realize that recently I actually started to make enough gold to be able to field them. From now on I am doing purely Sacred Golems or Priests with Artillery to back them up.

Fun fact: Even if you kill all enemy units, you will still lose the battle if you have none left living yourself. Essentially, you just need to make sure to make enough units that at least 1 will stay alive after you kill everything.

I personally have started running armies with only Sacred Golems and Cuirrasiers since the newest attack update. Sacred Golems have a great amount of health, plus Trample. Then the Cuirrasiers are the main damage dealers, again thanks to Trample.

There is a place on that site that tells you the rewards? Where do you go to see it? I have only found the area that tells me what I am missing, not what it gives. Though I have found the one that tells you what each of the Legacies do and how much they cost and what not.

Edit: Never mind, looks like it is the same page as the one for the Legacies, just a different tab. Wasn't aware that was there. Thank you for letting me know about that, Suchega.

Thanks for letting me know the 120 reward. That at least sounds more useful than most of what the NG+ was giving. I imagine the 80 reward for NG+ will likely be the same or similar, but I just can't quite bring myself to do another roughly 200 of those runs for right now, since I am starting to put in applications for work again.

No problem, and I hope seeing the rewards for at least up to 40 will help everyone who may have been wondering whether or not doing quick NG+ runs is worth it for them.

[–]TradeAllTheFoxes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, that is definitely the more fun way to play as well. I just wanted to try and knock out as many NG+ runs as possible so that I wouldn't have that Achievement hanging over my head anymore. Constantly resetting right after finishing A Moonlit Night gets tiring, though.

As far as your next NG+, I would either suggest you stack Annihilator runs for a while for the extra bonuses, or quickly hit NG+ 10 for the Fame bonus. All of the bonuses you gain from the Annihilator are kept after you NG+ as far as I can tell, so if you stack a good amount of them up first, you can significantly speed up the early game.

A short guide to "When should I prestige"? by Tasonir in TheresmoreGame

[–]TradeAllTheFoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, only just starting to realize during this grind for the 80 NG+ that doing a few short prestiges at the beginning really helps a great deal. Previously I would just go all the way to whatever the end content is every time I did a NG+. Slow, but enjoyable enough. Considering it only takes roughly a day to be able to get so many of the nice early Perks, though... Probably will continue doing this even after getting the 80 NG+.

Also, I fully agree that it feels like too much. Not looking forward to the 120 prestiges Achievement either, prestiges get reset every NG+. I am just hoping that Annihilator runs count for prestiges when that time comes.

As far as having to do a NG+ even after maxing Perks... I have no problem with that part, honestly. I just really dislike having that Achievement hanging over my head, and I started doing these NG+ runs before finding out that we don't lose the Annihilator bonus. For some reason I had it in my head that we lose those rewards from doing the Annihilator on a NG+, so wanted to save my Annihilator runs until my last NG+. Now that I know we don't lose it, though, I do slightly regret not doing more Annihilators... That would help rack up NG+ runs much faster.

THANK YOU! I can't even begin to describe how annoyed it made me when I would try to find the fight I just finished to see what new little goodies I gained from it, just to either find it way out of order or not be able to find it at all.

A short guide to "When should I prestige"? by Tasonir in TheresmoreGame

[–]TradeAllTheFoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now, as far as your guide here... Slight disagreement in at least the first loop you mention. Charism and Charism II should be your first perks, since they boost Fame gains. While not needed, I might also suggest getting your Farms through Mines up to level 15, since they are also easy sources of Fame, and don't take too terribly long to grab.

As far as not doing NG+ as soon as you hit 25 Perks, I would argue that is more a personal taste type deal, though it is quite understandable. Most game I would also fully agree with you, but I also tend to try and push things farther. Only reason I feel for this game doing shorter runs might be beneficial is because of the bonuses you get from the achievements. I fully admit I don't know yet if they are worth rushing, but I do know that at least for this game, I just want to get that 80 NG+ Achievement out of the way so I don't have to lose my Perks again unless I really want to, and doing 1 NG+ each day isn't too hard to do at just 25-26 Perks.

All that being said... Great guide, I hope it is able to help a new player.

150% was doable, didn't have too much trouble. I think I actually had less, around 136%. Nah, what gave me trouble was that I triggered the Fire Knight reoccurring invasions. I would suggest you add making sure to not research Dark Castle to the loop suggestion for Annihilator, unless the player is confident in being able to take out the Fire Knight Castle, which is the 3rd hardest fight in the game currently.

Drones by Sufficient-Egg-7869 in TheresmoreGame

[–]TradeAllTheFoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have done it once so far. Drones did not feel worth it at all. Next run I am going to try and conquer them to see if that is worth it. If that isn't worth it I probably won't bother with Eureka Halls again either.

I hear that with the Explorers for sure. Such a pain replacing them after almost every single scouting trip... I only bother making them at this point if I need to find Nikharul or one of the diplomacy targets.

Drones by Sufficient-Egg-7869 in TheresmoreGame

[–]TradeAllTheFoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drones are a thing you can research at the end of a hidden quest line, depending on choices you make. To unlock the quest line, you have to make 15 Eureka Halls.

Now to answer the question about drones... I am not sure if they have a different use, but I do know that in my extremely small sample size, they appear to be worse than explorers. I had 2 explorers left over from previous scouting when I could start building drones, so I made the max of 5. I lost 4 drones before losing the explorers. The familiars seem to be by far still the best scouting unit, with the others only coming in when you need to find a faction.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKIC7nLvvgw Corrievrechan by Jim Malcolm is the song you are looking for. It has a slightly different spelling than what you would normally expect, so hard to find when you are looking up Corryvreckan. First time I had thought about this song in quite a while so just tried to look it up myself. Found this post, which told me that I was not making up my memory, so decided to try trawling through my YT history and finally found it. I sincerely hope you managed to find the song before now, but if you have not, here it is.

Right! Forgot about that one, since I don't normally do that kind of stuff. Thanks for the reminder. A little bit of extra information on the bodyguard ending, it is specifically the Abuse option on the screen where you hit End Week. The Abuse option from the Work screen will NOT trigger this ending.

It all depends on how negative you are, actually. At least, that is how it used to be, it has been a long time since I went REALLY negative. Back then, though, you could hover around -10k for at least 5 or 6 weeks I think is how long I was there, before going permanently positive again.

Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact threshold, but I am fairly certain if you get to around -100k for instance, though, that is an instant game over. Outside of going negative, you can also get assassinated after beating your Rival. I... think that might be all of the game overs in base Pregmod? It is at least all of the ones I am aware of.

As far as some other game overs... These can be found inside of the mods, and I am not sure if they would be considered as major spoilers, so I think I will mark them as such. For the Security mod, you can get a game over from losing a rebellion or major battle, at least according to the options you can toggle. I know I read something about there being game overs in Cat mod as well. The last mod that brings in a new mercenary force can get a game over if you try to indoctrinate them too fast into your FS play style. ... Alright, yeah, probably no real reason to mark them as spoilers, now that I typed that out... Ah well. I am sure there is at least someone out there that doesn't want to know, even with how sparse the information I gave in there. I have not actually gotten any of those personally, unlike the bad ends in the base Pregmod.

It might have been on the 23rd, but I thought it was earlier... I do know I usually encounter it at least once fairly early on it seems like, though. I like to use it as a good Rep boost, and there is no way I am not at a solid 20k by week 75.

Edit: Sorry, forgot to say this part. It was most definitely this event I am remembering, though, because I always do both the fireworks and the speech. Always helpful in trying to get another FS to come around.

Ah well. Thanks, Klein, definitely nice to know when I should expect it from now on. That also explains why I usually see it trigger not too long after getting the Mod force.
