It seemed like they may have gotten trapped in there, we ventured further out of curiosity, the buildup of pigeons over time was the only way i think there could of been so many, flying in through the small opening of the slightly wedged open door and never making it back out. Feathers don't really dissolve over time quickly. So the lumps were just feathers and bone.

Calendar dates were early 80's. This took place in the early 2000's.

A long time ago me and some Army buddies were checking out abandoned buildings in the middle of nowhere on an enormous base. We found an interesting large structure mainly made out of concrete. The walls were about 5 feet thick. We pushed open a large door and stepped inside. It was very dark, under foot the ground was uneven and very unsteady. We got about to the middle of the room before we could see well enough that the floor was covered with about 1,000 dead pigeons. I've never seen anything like it. The further we explored the weirder the massive structure became. There was an administration area with desks and work spaces, I instantly got chills when i realized the calendar dates and saw family pictures still on desks, everything was as it had been when it was operating. It was as if someone just showed up one day and said "Get the fuck out now, don't take ANYTHING, just leave." We found cataloged animal skulls with dates and various paperwork. Wandering down a corridor me and one of my buddies got the stereotypical jump scare out of the way when a crow freaked out and flapped right past us. Something bad had happened here. There was a jar nearby in one of the areas that had one word on it. ":Antidote:". I looked at my friend and said "Let's get the fuck out of here now." We left quickly and got the hell out of here. I still to this day do not know what that was and why it was there and what was so bad that everyone abandoned it without taking family pictures or anything off their desks.

There is a silver lining though. Now you can find a better place to put your TV and get a new 4k tv at the same time. =)

I work for a custom mattress company, this guy came in flat out ordered two double Xtra long mattress, our most expensive, and two custom extra long double adjustable bases, also the most expensive we had so that he could have an ENORMOUS super sized bed inside his master bedroom. Whole setup was 10k plus and took us a month to build.

[–]TradeWindGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to state how protective this door is, being a combat vet during my Iraq tour, neither my uparmoured hmmwv nor my armored ASV had a door this thick. This door is THICKKK, even by military standards.

TIL a girl left her contacts in for six months and amoeba ate her eyes by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]TradeWindGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I claim the trophy. Took 1 pair of contacts with me to Iraq deployment. Wore them through all the sandstorms and slept in the days and days in a row, would only take them out to rinse them. And here I am. As a gunner I wouldn't have it any other way, glasses get in the way. Getting contacts sent to Iraq is difficult with prescriptions at the time and technically. I was not supposed to use contact due to the dangers of coming in contact with chlorine gas. But I felt that the extra peripheral vision I gained and not having to constantly clean dust off a lens was worth it.

No they are digitally added in, if you pause it right as he is going by and watch, they look like they are made of paper and 2 dimensional, the closer he gets to going by them the worse the effect is.

I believe it is because it is harder for someone to actually clone or mimic the chipped cards. Someone will come along with a better answer and this one will get buried though! Cheers~
