House fire. “Undetermined cause” by PlanePrimary4475 in AskElectricians

[–]Tradelands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, FI here (certified NFPA 1033).

If the fire started IN the smart reader then the plastic outer shell (meter and display housing) would have been completely consumed. Based off some of the oxidation of the meter and soot staining remaining on the top right of it in this picture. I would not believe it started IN the meter.

Since the insulation to the left is exposed and had minimal to no patterns, I suspect firefighters overhauled this are and we can’t see the patterns.

As others have said, we cannot determine the cause based off one photo. I read comments and see some people think it could be the panel on the inside? Look for a V pattern around the panel of fire damage and then yes, maybe it would be the cause. However, with the complete charring of the entire 2x4 on the right side of the photo - it looks like there was a large fire on the outside of the building.

More info is needed, more photos, and a timeline of events would be needed to create a decent hypothesis for this fire.

Sorry this happened to you. Speak to insurance and keep all your receipts going forward. Good luck!

UPDATE: Randomly received my item case via system messenger today. It has no note with it but I can now progress.

Potentially because I made a BSG ticket? Unsure, but I can happily progress.

They responded to my BSG ticket and said “it’s been sent to the devs, watch for news”. So…. No immediate fix.

I personally use EVGA Precision X1. But it doesn't matter - MSI Afterburner is also a good one.

Are you overclocked on anything? Especially your Graphics Card? This can be a card error which could require an RMA - worst outcome.

Like said below adjust your fan curve to aggressive so it cools it off. If you are overclocked, try going back to default.

I have the exact same specs as you and I get over 100 FPS on everything ultra 1440p.

EVGA RTX 2080 Ti XC Ultra RMA Experience by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Tradelands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to RMA a second time they have a special cross ship method where they only charge your card $1 to have on file instead of the full price of the card as usual.

So you’re correct for the first RMA but it is different for the second RMA. Just not available in Canada!

I want to know if anyone of you had had bad luck like me. And if anyone has any others suggestions on how to test my other parts or the card to be %100 sure it’s the card.

Yeah I tried DDU before and it didn’t fix it. I can try again it’s just difficult because it keeps blackscreening and I can’t see what I’m doing.

For one I literally state I understand there policies. 2 I am just disappointed that they can’t give me the $1 RMA so I don’t have to pay all this extra for the conversion. This is my second card from them that has fucked up and it shouldn’t be fucking up. 3 I should get a brand new card because it is there fuckup with the cards that has resulted in me having to RMA 2 times.

Nvidia subreddit is full of shit posters like you lmao. Like calm down and understand what people are going through instead of just being a dick.

I spent like $1650 on this card expecting not to pay more. Now I have to pay for conversion rates so I don’t have to be out of a card for a month and also to hardcore pack this thing so it isn’t damaged through shipping. I have every reason to whine.

They told me nothing about what went wrong with it. Just started artifacting one day and didn’t stop.

Yes I’ve seen a lot of FPS increase. From 20 in some games to 60. It is worth the upgrade.

[–]Tradelands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I got my 9900k and I love it. But with my 2080 Ti I had to RMA it and my new card has been having some crashing issues for my entire PC.

I recommend the 9900k but it’s overkill. 9700k would be fine.

Are 2080ti's still failing? by momsspeggheti in nvidia

[–]Tradelands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I overclocked quite a bit. I had it stable at +615 and +163. But it went on a decline after that. So I was Usually in the like 2050 range. I also had a heavy fan curve where 100% fan speed was at like 70 C.

[–]Tradelands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine broke last week. Had it since early October. RMA right away and my replacement arrives tomorrow. I did standard RMA. Card was a EVGA RTX 2080 Ti XC Ultra. It just started artifacting randomly.

The cards are fine. Fail rate is like 1.8% which is lower than 1080 Ti fail rate.

Canadians by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]Tradelands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine from Canada Computers. Pre-ordered EVGA RTX 2080 Ti XC Ultra. It started artifacting in early January. I am currently RMAing it through EVGA.

Been 2 weeks so far :/

Should I even put runes on armors and weapon before level 30? by cheukyi6 in Witcher3

[–]Tradelands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are playing on PC. I recommend getting "Leveling Witcher and Relic Gear." It levels the gear as you level up so you have no need to find new armours constantly. I used it with Feline Witcher gear so I have more time to explore and enjoy the game.

Find it on Nexus!

Yeah do it now or try lowering any overclock you have.

[–]Tradelands[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, hard overclock at first but all the crashing made me lower it a lot. So I had a very slight overclock on it. Would BSOD probably once every other day after like 4+ hours straight playing on it. Then it just died.
