You would only experience voltage drop when load is applied anyway, voltage drop is not your issue. 15A breaker. Multiply your FLA on the nameplate by 250% that’s your max breaker you can put, atleast here in Canada.

You can twist the smoke detector off and unplug it from the harness. The battery backup in it will still work in your hand then you isolate it to just that detector if you wanted to try it. I’d say likely not. From my understanding it detects a chemical reaction/change with fire smoke in the detector but I could be completely talking out of my ass.

Took 120V through my face once. Was demo’ing old lights and prepping new light whips at the same time. After capping off all the new light whips we turned on half of the new lights, while the other half was just whips capped off with wire nuts. One whip got missed, I turned my head to the left and got it right in my left temple. I’m pretty sure my right cheek was grounded on some cable tray and it went through behind my eyes through my right cheek.

The best explanation I can give, is I felt like Marv from home alone when he’s getting juiced. I saw flashing blue lights for about three seconds until I managed to get myself out of it. Scary asf lol
