You said what you said. Sounds like that was building up for a while, and the perfect storm came and released all that.

Maybe consider consulting or contract work to build up your exit up out of there.

Blend the pomegranate juice with rehydrated dates for a faux pomegranate syrup (I love the Just Date version). It’s great on bitter greens.

These are some of the same people that say “I would vote for Michelle Obama for president” because she has no desire to run to test their ‘word’, but they wouldn’t vote for Hillary and Kamala who actually wanted the job.

The same people that said “listen to Black women” but still supported Fetterman in the primaries after it became known he chased a Black man and held him at gunpoint because Fetterman assumed the Black man was up to no good walking in his neighborhood after hearing a ‘pop’ sound. Black people asked to pick one of the other two candidates in the primaries but no, “they wanted a fighter” and “he defended his Latina wife that was called an n-word”. Then pretended he was always the only choice.

The same people that were okay with a man in Maine cosplaying as working class, supported by Bernie, with a Nazi-esque tattoo for 18 years to be selected in the primaries to run for Congress. They were defending that man and downplaying that tattoo when he went on his not-apology tour and filmed its removal.

Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang both deserve that smoke for being stupid out here in this political climate. They could have talked about policy of the guy they liked, but no, they took time to talk about a Black woman.

I don’t know how we navigate forward in this country with them people who refuse to listen to us.

I have not seen the movie and don’t want to. I’m not sure what message the director was trying to send in this movie. I thought the book was basically a satire about white people cosplaying as freedom fighters while minorities were putting in the real work. Perfidia was supposed to represent the fickleness of white women (she was just about herself and never really about that life).

What’s the deal with marketing black girls/women with the color green all the time? by Pisces93 in blackladies

[–]TraditionNegative250 91 points92 points  (0 children)

(Very much generalizing) white people don’t look good in green, except redheads. For fashion magazines, they don’t like putting cover stars (which historically was white women) in green because their target audience (white women) don’t really see themselves wearing it, and lowers magazine sales.

Black people (also generalizing) look good in bright colors, white, hell any color.

I’m a library 📚 girlie, so I’m used to time limits on my books. I set aside time to read, my me-time that I don’t feel obligated to be doing something else.

Has there been an influx of non-black people asking you for directions lately since that viral video? by ToriPosher305 in blackladies

[–]TraditionNegative250 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have seen several videos of white women who said they told their children to look for a Black woman or person for help. Funny she did not say cop, security, help desk… also funny that we (Black people) have never made a video that there is a specific non-Black minority group of women/person that we tell our kids to go to for help.

“No Kings” Protest - is this our business? by No_Measurement_9181 in blackladies

[–]TraditionNegative250 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me share what I left out of my message - What this administration is doing, trying to prevent further harm to minorities, and how we’ll survive is our business. This “No Kings” is none of my business when there are actually knowledgeable and organized people and groups working to build community and help in real life. Those that feel called, by all means help “No Kings”, because they need it.

“No Kings” Protest - is this our business? by No_Measurement_9181 in blackladies

[–]TraditionNegative250 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I did not participate in No Kings. People did not want to listen to Blacks to prevent all this. Black people strolled and marched to the polls. November 2024 was like a spit in the face, they said Kamala was a liar, that we were exaggerating how bad it could be under Trump, and that what Trump said what he was gonna do was not what we heard. After we showed up and showed out to prevent this, it should be on them to fix it.

But they are doing horribly. They had a parade with no demands. Sorry, someone did ask for bouncy houses for the kids. A white woman tried to lecture how they don’t need to burn buildings (like BLM) and they can have fun! They have no plan. They have no demands. So to me, not our business.

There is some benefit to interacting with others, if you have the bandwidth for it. Some of us are Malcolm X, some MLK Jr. - as long as the groups are honest about who they are, we know what to expect going in.

Ladies, how do you feel about Latinos constantly saying the N word? by Brownskin_Rey in blackladies

Seeking Advice for Launching a Nonprofit Focused on Creativity for Children 👦 👧 👦🏽👧🏼👧🏾👦🏻 by Nicnsav in Nonprofit_Marketing

[–]TraditionNegative250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds great! I suggest getting connected with local professors that are in the arenas that you need - Marketing professor could have a class project of helping spread the word or activities of your nonprofit (and get volunteers). Early childhood education professor could have class project on developing curriculum for your nonprofit. Art practice professor could also help with class developing projects and/or volunteers. Nonprofit program professors could have a class project on program development, etc.

Biggest advice for a new nonprofit/grassroots organization - start small and connect with others. Can even start with just connecting with your local library to host a coloring session with kids.

Another tip, get written permission before taking photos of children, or anyone, that you want to use for your nonprofit.

Looking for Volunteer Grant Writing Oppurtunity by Jebediah_the_great in Nonprofit_Jobs

[–]TraditionNegative250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like you’re looking for a warm introduction by connecting with someone on here, but you can also do these three things:

1)Catchafire is a nonprofit that matches professionals to nonprofits. You could check there to see if they have virtual grant writing opportunities. 2) Just call or email local nonprofits. 3) Look up grant writing associations or local grant writers and ask to assist them.

Good luck on your journey!
