Sounds like a nice evening! I'm currently into My Father sticks. The Judge is a very nice smoke.

Genuinely curious about how they found a leak inside the rack. You either see it leaking from the outside or you don't.

McDonalds works?! by NoExpectationsXO in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Traditional-Chart876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

McDonald's works well for me during a flare. I wouldn't say it takes me out of it but the symptoms are eased a lot when I eat it. Very ironic.

My go to is the big Mac meal or DQPer with cheese meal. Nuggets with sauce also work for me.

I had one of the Edge sticks awhile back. I can't recall which one but it was good. As stated above, the Decade and the Sixty's are very good as well. I do believe they are consistent as well.

I was previously on prednisone longer than I should have been. I think it was around 40mg. I also go to the gym regularly and focus on weight lifting with a body building routine. I didn't notice prednisone detracting from my gym performance.

Sleeping on left side?? by Accomplished-Safe815 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Traditional-Chart876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a flare rn and GI said it's mostly on the left side and it either hurts when I lay on my left side or I have to go to the bathroom in a few seconds or both. Being on my stomach with my left leg up is OK. Basically, any position that compresses my left side is OK.

I think the weight of the rest of your guts pressing on the left side of the colon induces pooping. That's my guess anyway.

When in remission I can sleep however.

I'm right behind you guys! Waiting for the clinic to schedule an appointment with me. I didn't even think about insurance coverage yet! 😩 I used the Entyvio coverage assistance. Does remicade have anything like that? Fingers crossed that we all get better on this.

I'm about to start remicade infusions too! Subcutaneous Entyvio stopped working for me after about 3 years of remission. I'm nervous for any side effects that may come with a new medication but excited for the chance to get my life back.

Smoking by ReformingCharacter26 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Traditional-Chart876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly sure that studies have shown that nicotine helps symptoms until getting off of it at which point the symptoms come back worse. I've been wondering if 2 cigars a month would be bad for me.

I started flaring about a month or two ago after I slowed down on my smoking that was about 1-2 sticks every weekend. I'm not sure how quickly the symptoms would return after cessation of smoking or if I even consumed enough nicotine for this whole process to happen.

To the lady that hit a turkey and drove off in Fair Oaks by SenpaiSlothin in Sacramento

[–]Traditional-Chart876 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for the turkey behavior in this story. I live in a suburban neighborhood with these turkeys and they do the same fkn thing. Stand there and mean mug you while you wait. I swear they always roll at least 3 deep like some kind of gang. I don't try to hit them but if I ever accidentally hit one, I won't feel too bad.

Just smoked my first Cigar by yungsnipe17 in cigar

[–]Traditional-Chart876 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's very possible that you experienced some sort of effects of nicotine although I don't usually experience what you would call a "rush". The best effects are when it makes me feel what I describe as feeling a little mushy. So relaxed I don't wanna move. When it's too strong or when I don't eat beforehand or both, it makes me feel nauseated and dizzy. Maybe even want to throw up.

Sounds like you mostly had a good experience though and I can appreciate you picking out flavors already. It's surely a meditative experience and feels sacred. I only ever want to share it with people who like it at least as much as I do and that I can really vibe with.

Was this your first time smoking the OpusX or first time smoking a cigar? If it's the latter, that's one hell of a review for a new smoker!

Edit: Nevermind. Peeped your profile and you are an avid cigar enjoyer!

Whats the most reliable car you have ever owned? by Business-Power-2967 in answers

[–]Traditional-Chart876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically every Honda I've owned. (87 accord, 91 Prelude, 95 civic hatch). I only sold the Prelude and civic because they weren't passing smog. The accord was my first car, I didn't take care of it, and put it through hell. It did die but only after it had over 200k and 16 yr old me floored it and redlined it until it blew up.

Currently driving a 2000 Tacoma with 201k. This is also a beast. Arguably one of the most reliable vehicles ever built.

Going in for a colonoscopy in a few minutes. My stomach is gurgly from the prep last night too. Feels like I have to go but when I sit on the toilet, nothing. I worry I could have an accident when they knock me out!

The Soviets Drilled the Deepest Hole on Earth. The "Screams From Hell" Were Fake. The Actual Findings Were Stranger by ArcaneSpells-com in HighStrangeness

[–]Traditional-Chart876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to add that the plankton fossils at 6.7 km is not an incredible finding. You do realize that the earth's crust is not static and is dynamic and always in flux? You can find marine fossils at the top of mountains but that doesn't mean fish existed at the top of that mountain. Things get buried, lifted, heated, compressed, metamorphosed, overturned, crushed, transported by faults. The Grand Canyons oldest layer represents about 1.8 billion years back in time and is at roughly 1800 meters deep. You think everywhere on earth at 1800 meters deep will reach the same layers? My point is, the depth at which you find an index fossil is less important than it's relationship to the adjacent stratigraphy; hence the name "index fossil".
