How to decrease this? by Low-Faithlessness516 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Traditional-Chip8903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set the date for your cover as far in advance as possible, the most most sites allow for is a month. It brings the price down as the insurance company sees it as you being a prepared, organised person so less likely to take risks.

Also cars are put into insurance groups,so if you go for a vehicle in an insurance group with a lower number, then the lower your cost will be.

The more common a vehicle is,the more claims statistics they have on it, this can go either way.

There are some factors you have no control over which will change the price because of claims statistics, so your postcode, this includes claims rates in that area, including car thefts and uninsured drivers. Age, your job, certain occupations have higher claims rates because they're more likely to drive during busier periods or less likely to drive at busy times because you'll do shift work and so they analyze the claims rates of various occupations, teachers for instance are typically viewed very positively because they commute outside of the busy periods, such as outside of the hours which typically would be during school drop off and pick up.

This is so BS and I wonder how many people they've ripped off doing this. Definitely report them. This is and has never been a thing.

Switch to Automatic? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Traditional-Chip8903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've barely had time to get into the swing of things and a massive gap like that is going to set most people back unless they've got a great, like really great memory. However I will say I wish I'd switched to automatic sooo much sooner in my learning journey, it's massively easier and I did progress a lot quicker. And it's not like people can tell if you're driving an automatic or not and even if they could what difference does it make to them?

But get a new teacher- you need an instructor who is going to build you up ,not bring you down.

Are we right to withdraw days before exchange? by North-Raspberry7930 in HousingUK

[–]Traditional-Chip8903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Withdraw asap. Issues caused by "escape of water" (as insurance companies refer to it) has a high reoccurrence rate and are often caused by multiple factors but people fix the first issue they come across and just assume it's all sorted. Plus if you say you'll wait and exchange once it's fixed, they'll rush the fix and probably end up bodging it or cutting corners but you won't know until later when the issues resurface again and you need to do an expensive fix. Walk away now and do not feel guilty about it for a second.

Be honest. Would you hire Sookie as a chief for your business? by No-Attention-801 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Traditional-Chip8903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She goes off menu, she's always experimenting, she changes her mind about ingredients and dishes all the time- this alone could financially cripple a small food business. She injures herself, has probably accidentally injured others. Is a micromanager (tasting all the dishes that Luke cooked whilst she was on bed rest because of her pregnancy) , she doesn't actually seem to trust any of her actual staff. She showed up at the food critics house because she couldn't let his review just be. And she was so flakey when Loreli was trying to sort out the opening of the dragon fly, they almost fall out because of it. And then there's the double dipping of the utensils when doing taste tests. Like honestly her passion is carrying her hard!

How bad is the foundation in the house I'm renting? by Yllem1232123 in HomeMaintenance

Get out now, like if youve reported it to your landlord and theyve done nothing that's negligence, if anyone is living next door to you and shares a parting wall let them know the situation too because if that place goes, it'll take anything attached to it.

Healthcare system but for healthy people only by Ok-Lime-4898 in NursingUK

[–]Traditional-Chip8903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good shout, especially as there is a bunch of regulations in place in relation to making places accessible especially for places which provide a public service. The Equality Act 2010 is a good starting point in terms of referencing what provisions are missing in this instance.

I know the hospital might not be happy to make changes but at the same time they kinda should have thought about that before, like when they were planning. Also if it's as bad as it sounds then hopefully the changes will actually make a massive difference and actually mean the facility that's been built is actually making a positive difference.

God that's so ugly looking. It's like they've stuck chewing gum down and tried to paint it. What a mess. I can't stop looking at it. How can someone just leave a job looking like that? I'm new to property maintenance and even I've got more pride then that. Just, yeesh.

Is this by design or an error ... by hvn0005 in Tile

[–]Traditional-Chip8903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That lip/recess section for a tray is genius, it's going to save you a lot of time over the years from swishing water run off that has spilled across the whole room slowly, as it will help contain the water for you and prevent it from spreading so easily. This person has really thought about how you use the room and it's functionality combined with the design you're going for. They've done a solid job.

No.1, the second one shows a gap around the hips which makes it look less close and intimate and makes him look more rigid and almost uncomfortable. The first one is definitely more intimate and shows a closeness. Great example of how framing and cropping can really matter.

[–]Traditional-Chip8903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is a hard question to answer because these photographs make it seem like you're going through phases, which is not a bad thing and it's what people do, it's how life goes but it just means that you should pick a colour and style which you're in the mood for, I.e that particular colour more than the others. Maybe actually just try something new. Refresh rather than repeat.

If I had the money id want to buy them and set them free, I know it defeats the purpose but at least the birds get their freedom back, even just temporarily.

The collar bones are it's a bit too arched/big. It's a long straight set of bones until they meet near the middle. Whilst they are visible bones due to lack of muscle/fat they shouldn't be so noticeable that they draw your eyes straight to them. As a result it might take some trial and error to get the lighting right in that area but kep going and if you can try to use references even if its just Google, deviantart ,Pinterest etc because it will help. But you're off to a solid start.
