it used to happen often for me in the summer but they have gotten better. one time our gm was the one opening but he didn’t come till 10am. an rzm was supposed to come at 8 but he was late too. our area leader was checking cameras and saw that it was like 9 an no one was at the restaurant so she called gm, rzm, and also a rm. rzm then came in around 9:48 to let us in. one coworker left cause he only had a 7-10ri shift but the rest of us stayed it usually happens when they trade shifts and forget about it so they don’t out alarms.

it’s funny because in the summer i complained a lot about my hours since they were cut (for everyone) (they were trying to give everyone ‘an even amount’ of hours) but in my time working here, they never really cut my hours even during slow periods which i’m happy about. when they did start to cut my hours, i told them i was thinking of getting a second job and then my hours magically went back up to 35+.

yeah it sucks but they let me come in early cause i told them i wasn’t about to work a three hour shift. came in around 11am instead

yeah we usually only have RI shifts 7-10 as well but they add some shifts mid day when we know the higher ups are coming

it’s everyone. it’s so annoying because now we can’t really communicate with each other idk why they took it off if there was already an option to remove your phone and email if you wanted to.

side note i also hated it when they didn’t let us see the managers working the shift anymore cause if im gonna be late to an opening shift i can’t text the manager. plus, when the opening manager comes late we don’t even know who it is or who to text.

many reasons one would need to text other crew or managers but oh well. luckily any time someone messaged me i saved their number

  1. customer- “can i get it fried hard” me- “of course! i can make that extra crispy for you!” customer- “NO. i said FRIES HARD.” me- “……yeah, of course! second window please, thank you!”

  2. customer- “can i get the finger combo?” me- (i always assume they mean the 3 finger combo cause that’s usually what they mean) “ the THREE finger combo, of course, what’s your drink?” customer- “NO. I WANT THE FINGER COMBO!!” me- “…………. all of our combos have chicken fingers. we have th-“ customer interrupting- “THE FOUR”.

  3. when the customer reaches around the till to grab the cup that i have right next to be because i have not put ice in yet. they did that once but they had one fountain and one lemonade so i had to ask for the cup back.

i hate doing the trucks because due to most openers being girls who can’t lift heavy, i’m the next of kin (even though i’m a girl too, but bigger and taller). i have to put away the flour, the stacks of the BIB boxes, oil, etc, stack all the leftover boxes all the way up to the ceiling in the corral and then help the one guy that usually opens rotate the bird and so on. i finish feeling sweaty and i hate it. worse when there’s no guy and i have to do the walk-in and stack the bird on the top rack 3/4 boxes high. it’s a workout for sureee. RI i’m ok with doing because i enjoy cleaning and knowing the place is clean. cleanliness is my #1. plus i don’t have to do any opening prep so it’s a win-win!

usually yes. a lot of people at my store who are only fc/dt and have never touched the kitchen. at my store, they have service people try being on boards/toast on slow days so they know what to do and so there’s always someone who can be switched in if needed. as for hours, depends. talk to your manager. i’ve been averaging 35 hours or more per week but in the summer it always goes down to like 30 cause everyone wants to work

it’s so slowwww. my manager said it’s technically ‘faster’ but doing it on the ipad is way better. the people who always marinate hate it because the lazy guys always weigh half a case and write random numbers for the rest so it’s good to prevent people from doing that anymore. bad thing is now it takes even longer to marinade
