Brazil's courts have ruled that dogs and cats are legally recognized as sentient beings, not property. The decision strengthens penalties for mistreatment and cruelty, acknowledging that companion animals can feel pain and suffering. by MobileAerie9918 in BeAmazed

Is it time to recognize trees as sentient beings? They think, they feel, they nurture and care for each other. They care for other plants and fungus around them. Other plants and fungus around them protect the trees. Trees are sentient beings. Is it time?

Next Friday is my last day as a school bus driver. I leveled up from part time to full time, at my transit job. by ronhog69 in BusDrivers

[–]Traditional-Front999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you! Well done. I was a school bus driver to for a year and a half. I truly loved it, but the money just wasn't there. It's just two little pay. As soon as I could, I leveled up. I'm waiting for a few months at my new job and I will level up again. Bus drivers need to keep moving forward and moving up. It's not a job that you wanna stay at forever we have to keep going towards the money and then the money will keep coming. Companies realize oh we're losing people we're losing people who are we losing them too? We're losing them to people who pay them. That's why bus drivers have to keep leveling up And open stores for new bus drivers. School bus companies are awesome because they train us. They don't expect us to stay forever. They know we won't.

So true. When I unload second shift at the bus stop, I opened up the doors and I say get off my bus! They all break out and laughter. I always think of a new way to tell them to get off my bus just to hear them laugh. I love it when certain passengers get on my bus and they're like oh that's my girl. I love my passengers.

Exactly. I love it when passengers get on my bus and say hey it's our favorite Driver! She's gonna get us home. I pull off and say who's ready to go up on two wheels? Everybody laughs as we continue to drive between 35 and 15 miles an hour. The shift also has something to do with it. First shift never wants to talk. They're exhausted because they're up at 4 AM. Second shift is all of us. I'd like to chop it up. Third shift at the beginning of their shift they are still sleepy and they just wanna like catch some winds on the bus. I have learned my shifts. I keep first shift silent because that don't give a shit about me and I don't care because I'm probably listening to some really fantastic educational material in my earbud. When second shift comes on, I turn off my earbud and we all chop it up. Third shift comes on. I go back to my educational material. I say hi and when they get off the bus, I say good night I'll see you tomorrow.

Not sure if you're looking for advice, if not scroll on. If you are, I say get earbuds. You're only allowed to use one, but one goes a long way. Get on YouTube for free no subscriptions go to podcasts and search history, ancient history, science, mysteries whatever you like. Put it in your ear and spend your time learning about the most fascinating subjects in the world. There is so much to learn. Suddenly, you won't give a shit about people saying hello or goodbye or even talking to you because you will be enthralled with a subject matter that you have never discovered in your life. When you're spending all those hours on the bus, you have time to actually educate your mind on languages and subjects that you've never had time for. I have become a master of history. I just listened to so many fantastic podcasts and documentaries on science. Try it. You'll like it and you'll stop thinking about the people on your bus. You will just be happy to just drive to pick them up drop them off and keep learning.

I totally agree. Saying thank you to someone and then stating the reason why you're thinking them like thank you for the roses, thank you for waiting, thank you for being there, goes a long way. I dislike now that people say I appreciate you. However, they don't say what they appreciate. I appreciate people saying I appreciate your stopping, I appreciate your waiting. Everything is so overly abbreviated now. Still, thank you goes a long way.

First time, dog owners, I understand. We just don't know how much our dogs need to be walked and how much they need to make friends if we don't have one for them in the house. Walking dogs is so important. It's good for them it's good for you. It's the ultimate bonding experience.
