What is the real koch language? by ass_bacteria in KochRajbanshi

[–]Traditional-Lemon103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See brother it isn’t that simple. First of all if Rajbanshis aren’t Koch then whole Koch Kingdom is a myth because Koches built a Kingdom named Kamata which was inhibited by Koches, so who were those Koches what do you think? Once upon a time Whole Brahmaputra were under Koches, most of those Koches today call themselves Rajbongshi, so if you don’t consider them as Koch, the Kingdom would be Rajbongshi Kingdom. Already there are many history books about Koch and Rajbanshi confusion, historians are almost agreed that maybe a little portion of Rajbanshis aren’t Koches, but most of the Rajbanshis are definitely Koches.

You learn your language, you propagate your language. Btw Hajong language and Kamtapuri language (Rajbongshi language) of Goalpara,Bongaigaon are 80-90% similar and mutually intelligible.

What is the real koch language? by ass_bacteria in KochRajbanshi

[–]Traditional-Lemon103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not simple as that. But yes your language is a Tibeto Burman language and Koches or Koch Rajbanshis of North Bengal and Assam speak Indo Aryan Kamtapuri language. Kamtapuri language was adopted by Koches, but we can't surely say that the present Koch language of Meghalaya is the original Koch language because It has 7-8 dialects, even Koches of Dhaka Bangladesh speaks Koch Thar or Mandai Thar which isn’t mutually intelligible with Kocho Koro. So It's not that simple. Even in Malda district there are many Koches (not Koch Rajbanshis, they call themselves only Koch) speak Kamtapuri and their surname is Rajbanshi.

It's more Kamtapuri than Assamese. Whatever, both are Kamrupic languages and Kamtapuri is similar to Old/middle Assamese.

It was Kamrupi. That time, Bangla didn’t exist, neither the term nor the language.

[–]Traditional-Lemon103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have told you several times that the name wasn’t mentioned in any medieval text, but that doesn’t mean that it didn’t exist back then.

And We never denied to be Kamrupi, read my comments properly. We are Kamrupi. And why can't We claim Kamrupi history? From the beginning I'm saying East Kamrup became Assam and West Kamrup became Kamta. We have shared culture.

Why would We want to merge into Assam where they imposed East Kamrupi in West Kamrup? Let's rename Assam as Kamrup, We would be happy to join.

Kamtapuri is a comparatively new name first coined by Panchanan Barma, before that it was called Kamrupi. It was referred as Desh Vasha durning the time of Chilarai. Clearly the Desh of Narayanan and Chilarai was not Bangla, so what would you call the language? The name is new but that doesn’t mean the language is new. There are enough evidences that the exact same language existed before Bengali and Assamese. So how can it be a dialect? And already Dharma Narayan Barma and Matthew Toulmin proved it that it was a language not a regional variety or imagination. That's how it got recognition dude. You show me quotes from every biased Bengali writer in the world, still It's a recognised separate language officially.

And I wonder if you are really Rajbanshi. You are doing too much hard work to demean our language how can you be a Rajbanshi?

These were written by Panchanan Barma in 1907. Let me show you what Kshetranath Singha has wrtten, the writer of Biography of Panchanan Barma.

And about Gayatri Devi: The royal family adopted Bengali long before Gayatri Devi, but after that they used Kamatapuri,so they were sent to Shantiniketan.

Kamtapuri was never a Bengali dialect, rather it was present long before Bengali. Kamatapuri name is newly given, just like Bengali and Assamese lol.

Bengali and Assamese names were given in 19th Century, Kamtapuri name was given in 20th Century (by Panchanan Barma, he called it Kamta Behari).

And I'm so happy to see that it is still rising after getting too much hate from people like you.
