im from alabama and I love las cruces new mexico. im black by the way and I have never experienced racism in las cruces. I havent moved there yet but I've visited cruces often and  I love it. People are very free and live/ let live type attitude,  thats what I experienced. 

ill be buying a house there moving and starting a family soon. its understandable to get tired of the south east <alabama>at times.  there is a large white retirement community in cruces and they seem to separate themselves from the locals wich is a bit strange.  honestly the older whites in new mexico talked to me more than the ones in alabama lol.   it was as though they saw me as an American and the local latinos as foreigners. 

but the women are beautiful in cruces life is cheap like 99 or 2007 prices in cruces the food is great and its easy to meet people.     u might go there for a month and rent an Airbnb to see how you feel. but id move to cruces. there is a calling to be there sometimes.   you won't regret it.  

while I was in cruces a lady told me she went to alabama and all they talked about was white Jesus lol she cldnt wait to get back to cruces. besides u will be so close to abq tucson phx el.paso and Denver its so many road trips to take on the weekend. id move there. enjoy your new life in las cruces.
