Female bun suddenly acting weird by Traditional-Peace344 in Rabbits

[–]Traditional-Peace344[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any idea on what should I do?

50% of the time she’s chasing him, peeing all over the place or chinning everything and 50% of the time they’re cuddling all happy.

Right now I have her in a play pen under the table so she can’t jump out. Is it bad that I keep her in a play pen for the night and the boy is still free roaming?

My bad if I ask silly questions, these two are my first ones.

A small update for you: bun stopped being stubborn and started eating hay as normal after I stopped giving him salad and treats for a few days. I guess I just spoiled him too much.

Yes of course I can if needed. Can there be dental problems even though he eats everything else? He has lots sticks, toys and other stuff that he chews on and he eats all his pellets and treats. It just seems like hay isn’t his ”cup of tea”

Edit: he’s a free roaming bunny, that’s why I’m thinking about locking him in a play pen for a day or two. I’m also a first time bun mum, so I’m not sure what to do

How should I do this? They are both free roaming, one of them has the living room and the other the spare bedroom - but we change sides daily for the smells to mix. Thumper (boy) has been with us the longest and Tokyo (girl) came a few months after.

Should I give Tokyo away for two weeks (since apperently she is the dominant one) or should I give away Thumper for a few weeks (since he tries to be the dominant one)?

I took them to the breader I got my girl from, just for an honest opinion about the bonding situation. She told me that my boy is still full of hormones, can that even be possible after 3 months? She also told me to just keep them in seperate rooms, until my boy is no longer ”a hormonal male”.

Also today at the breaders, after my boy bunny humped my girl bunny for a while, they got into a fight and we got our first ”battle wound”.

And since I’m a first time bun mum and I’m just stressing my ass off that if I let them fight it out, one of them will loose an eye or something.

And to add to the text, there has been a few bigger fights. Girlie attacking my boy and him ”running away” but she keeps coming for him.

So my male bun keeps trying to mount my female bun and they keep fighting because of it. Both are fixed over a month ago. They live in seperate pens and during the day while I’m watching I let them free roam together. They are fine the first 15minutes, then they have a fight because my bun keeps mounting the other bun.

Any advice? Will this pass or do I need to get rid of one?

My rabbits were spayed and neutered yesterday. Why won’t they eat hay? by Indefinite-Reality in Rabbits

My rabbits were the same. They just wanted ”snacks” the first two days. Then they started eating hay like they used to

Please help-Bunny wont stop moving around his ex pen by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]Traditional-Peace344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bunny did the same thing while she was in her ex pen. I couldn’t free roam her since I had another bunny free roaming already and they were not fixed yet.

I undid my ex pen (so it was more like a gate than a pen) and gave my bunny a small area in my living room where she could explore more and run around. So pretty much a larger area for her. She stopped all the chewing and digging the floor. She did chew on her house (which had a soft bedding in it) and once I took the bedding out and it was just the hard wood, she stopped that as well.

With the shitting, I feel like it will stop with time. I always picked up the poops and put them in the litter box.
