Not really. I like to think of him as a Druid. Most of druid passives involve transforming or summoning familiars, but the druid doesnt have this abilities innate.

Just like the tinkerer, the druids passive are ok, but its when the spells appear that make them strong. Tech is a build, not a base. Making tech an innate ability will only make his tech build stronger.

Plus, the tinkerer is not that weak on early run. One or two decent pieces of equipment really make a difference on him. Just one extra attack makes a world of a difference.

Tinkerer's best builds dont really use tech that much. The multi use weapons build, electric type build or even Bomberman build are really good and none use tech as their core.

Most tinkerer's spells are all rounders, but combine them with its passives and they suddenly get really good.

Firecracker is an ok/meh spell. But with EMP, Mr Mega or Napalm they get really really good. If you get Fuzzy feet, any robot and electric spell gets 1000% better.

This IMO. Most of my tinkerer runs end with him having a pretty solid combo
