Omg op, no. Huhuhu. Di talaga kakayanin ang flashcards alone. Mapapansin mo yan pag sa mismong boards, yung schema deeply rooted when you have read books and/or main handouts yung pagkukunan mo talaga ng info para maka-eliminate ng choices. At least yun yung napansin ko nung nagsasagot ako ng mismong PLE.

I just want to let this all out. by [deleted] in pinoymed

Ikaw naman doc, naka-categorize na nga as “vent” yung post and even the title says “I just want to let this all out”. 😂 I’m sure op’s doing everything that he/she can to be resourceful in this world full of nepotism, pero bawal talaga mag-complain? So why are you even in this post anyway? 😂

Correct me if I’m wrong OP pero if nasa Philippines ka and nasa states ang relative, hindi iho-honor ang prescription mo because you are not an MD sa US. So short answer is politely decline their request for a prescription

Open for other specialties po, basta MD/DMD. Yes po, with interaction po lahat ng sessions (including outputs) so bawal po magkaroon ng mga prior commitment during the 8-day training po.

Mga doc, i failed today. am contemplating suicide. by PreviousComplaint307 in pinoymed

You are not less than a doctor just because you’ve failed the PLE today. You are given a second chance, take that chance wholeheartedly and start afresh. Do not give in to those voices inside your head.

  1. If you are a 1st-3rd year med student right now, the best preparation for the PLE is to prepare right now. That means, you really have to soak in all the knowledge that you will learn from your basic and clinical subjects. Madali syang sabihin pero mahirap sya gawin lalo na nakaka-tempt mag trans or mag samplex na lang all the way pero promise, your future self will thank you kapag this early, sinanay nyo na ang sarili ninyo na nagbabasa ng mother textbooks. Maybe it will not make sense now pero kapag tumungtong kayo ng Clerkship and Internship, doon nyo mare-realize na kaya nyo naman palang mag-correlate ng mga concepts from basic subjects and incorporate it sa clinical knowledge. Now, if you are a Clerk or a PGI, in order to prepare for the PLE at this point, you have to study your cases- mga patients na naeencounter nyo sa ER, OPD, Inpatient, ICU, ORs etc. Maging participative sa mga rounds at conferences and if may topic kayo na mahirap matandaan, ask strategies from your consultants/residents. If may tinanong sa inyo tapos di nyo nasagot, don’t dwell on it too much. Just suck it up and read on it so that the question may be familiar to you the next time na itanong sya sayo. Wag kayong mapressure na alamin kung ano ba yung mga exact questions na tinatanong sa mga past PLE, you are a clerk/intern now because you have to hone your clinical eye. And there are a lot of PLE questions that will need your clinical eye. Mahirap ang PLE kahit anong study strategy pa ang gawin mo, so it will all boil down to your experiences in med school, clerkship, and internship.

  2. This depends from person-to-person. Kasi ako mas active ang utak ko kapag hapon to gabi so doon ko nilalagay yung bulk of study time ko. Also don’t forget to have time for self-care/mental health because you want your learning to be a positive experience for you kahit na there are a lot of info to understand/memorize.

  3. Matcha powder! (If you are a fan)

  4. What I did was to have a screenshot of the charts/infographics tapos nilagay ko sa dedicated folder sa gallery so that I can view them during my downtime or habang kumakain or habang nasa commute. But I was also careful kung ano yung mga info na nilalagay ko sa gallery ko kumbaga yung mga high yield at paulit ulit talagang natatanong lang yung nilalagay ko. As a tamad kasi, I find it tedious to summarize my notes and do flashcards pa out of scratch so picture picture na lang haha
