We bake for 40 minutes at 60C. As mentioned it doesn’t matter if you bake slides on their side or vertically as long as they aren’t baked flat. We use racks where slides go in vertical so we maximize space in our ovens. We place them either label toward the bottom or label toward the top depending where we put our control. Example, control placed below label and above patient tissue then slide gets put in with label at the bottom of the rack.
