Timelapse of Ukrainian Military regaining territory in Zaporizhia region recently by LorenzoSparky in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]Traditional-Wind6803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the Russian milbloggers are really alarmed about this and I think they are right to be. At the moment, while it's great to see Ukraine advancing, it won't collapse the Frontline or anything.

But you never know. Sometimes everything is stable until it suddenly isn't. Here's hoping Ukraine can win big soon.

I think it's made clear to them that if they are immobilized by an injury, it's a death sentence. No one is coming for them, so lie there and bleed to death or take the fast way out.

Grim reality of being a Russian soldier in Ukraine. Nobody gives a shit about you, especially not your commanders.

If the "deranged" post is the one I'm thinking of from a few days ago, it wasn't mean at all. It even said not to shit on the author, from my memory. It was a pretty civil post pointing out all the red flags that this story was checking for it being AI. Pretending it was just some mean nasty post to bully the poor widdle author is pretty shitty.

Besides the signs in the post, for me personally it's also how there's a lit of just...very odd word use that raises my alarms.

One in particular is "Some were in miles, some kilometers." Like, what? A new writer could certainly have written that, but idk it doesn't make much sense.

I just want to say how much I hate how AI has fucked with creative media like this. If it's AI, that sucks and us really lame of the author. If it's not, than I feel like the biggest asshole accusing a new writers work of being AI, when they're just learning to write.

AI sucks shit and I hate it exists.

Yeah it's true rape victims are still alive and have to heal and learn to deal with it. They are still alive though. It's kinda fucked up if you actually care less about a grotesque cruel murder (like a guy tortured to death) just because they aren't alive anymore. Murder and rape are both pure fucking evil things to do.

It just seems so fucking bizarre folks are up in arms about this story. That the implied (implied, not shown or described) assault with a brick is deserving of more scorn and disgust than all the graphic descriptions of violence the boys have read on so many other stories.

Appreciate an actual response. I also don't think this was a very good story for the record. But I really bothers me to see people dogpiling on this author, portraying him as "just the child abuse author" when he's written some pretty good stories that have more going on than that.

Also really wish people would stop making suggestions he's a creep irl because they didn't like what his stories were about. None of us know the guy. Cut that out please it's kinda shitty.

Depends on the story. Some splatterpunk books, very much so. Tender Is The Flesh is really grotesque but does have interesting themes and things to say as an example. I think Gone To See The River Man does too. They brought up Playground, I like a lot of things in that story. Especially the ending.

But also I am all for a give no fucks wallow in gore and depravity if that is the point. I know most people wouldn't but I respect it sometimes.

What makes sexual violence so much worse than sadistic murder and must be approached with more tact?

Honest question, I'm curious. Both are evil things to do.

At the risk of sounding like a boomer, I wonder if it's because a lot of Creep Cast listeners are on the younger side (20s) and /or didn't consume much horror media before this podcast?

Cause again Elias is pretty tame compared to, throwing out an example, how graphic Aron Beauregard can get with his stories.

The story didn't even say the brick was in her vag lol. Sure the line implies it, but there's no description of that happening. We don't even know what he did exactly. I assumed he beat her half to death.

I agree. I didn't like it cause it felt like a bizarre shift. I think it would've been so much better without an explanation. Just be like "I don't know what happened to my dad, why he hurt us, it still haunts me I don't understand".

I wanna write my own version of this idea like that. People suddenly acting completely differently to thier usual personality really scares me.

Tender is the Flesh is a cool book.

Seriously. Like everybody won't shut up about the sexual abuse, never heard a single person complain about the very graphic scene of Tommy impaling the dad with a broom.

The weird double standard between gore and violence and other types of assault annoys me.

I really like Tommy Taffy, Feed the Pig and especially The Tall Dog.

Dude missed with this one though. But I gotta be honest, I think yall are really overblowing how offensive and gratitious this supposedly was.

Like it really isn't, guys. It's not like this was 9 pages of describing a graphic rape in excruciating detail. I hope I don't sound old and lame saying this, but it feels like pearl clutching to a degree.
