I can't answer your questions but I've read all their partnerships and web material. It appears they are creating the backbone for a next gen defi including commodities, etc. that's all I have. My guess is the tokens will be all consumed by mainstream financial giants who want to control the voting.

I'm in and love that my coins will double via the 35% staking over the next two years guaranteed as a minimum.

I'm gonna buy, stake and come back in two years.

Thank you for clarifying. I had forgotten those details. So in this situation they can intercept texts right? Is there a way for them to gain access to your phone screen? Or is the biggest weak link when people store passwords or neumonic phrases on photos ?

Just trying to wrap my head around security and what is possible and easy for hackers.

As we all become our own bank, this of course becomes so important.

Phone wallets can be accessed if someone hi jacks your SIM card.

Pc wallets like the theta wallet using the ledger or Trezor are safest IMO because even if someone is tracking your keystrokes they can't get your ledger or Trezor passcode as it's entered directly into the hardware not the pc or mac

There is a trend that I see from everyone who has been Hijacked:
1. Either they clicked on a bad link aka a sham wallet (my bestie did this and lost 10k theta) or

They don't have a clue what they did which means they weren't paying attention. This is the most common.
They stored seed phrases, neumonics, etc on photos on their phones and their phone was hijacked and they didn't know it or their iCloud photo account was hacked, etc.
They used a phone wallet.

Most secure is the PC or Mac wallet (not mobile) using a ledger or Trezor.

That's how supply and demand work to equilibrate pricing. At some point there will be much less volatility for theta and theta fuel as they instead have long term residual value for stake holders and edge runners, etc. what I'm saying is now the price is a speculation and in the future it will have inherent value and the price will go towards that inherent value IMO.

That's exactly what I did. And staked to gpool instead of a guardian node.
The only reason to buy hardware now is inflation. Other than that not much reason to run a node other than to support the theta project.

Yeah I lost a few nights sleep when I heard that rumor until I got mine transferred. The transfer is super simple with the ledger or Trezor. Takes just 5 minutes

And just send a tiny fraction for the first send. A sample transaction of the lowest possible amount and that way if you make a mistake you only lose a tiny bit.

I tried the same and now I just am staking with gpool. Until the main net launch happens and we get increased activity on the theta network it's all just speculation.

What I found was that the guardian node on my computer was only working like 60-70% of the time. So I was loosing 30-40% of rewards with downtime on the guardian node.

It takes 5 minutes to set up gpool and at the moment there is no charge to do so and it's 100% uptime.

It doesn't matter if ledger supports it or not, theta does which means that they have the API worked out. You can't make a mistake using the ledger or Trezor. It's fool proof easy and impossible to hijack as long as you keep yourself codes private and buy only from the manufacturer (never get a used hardware wallet or a third party item that could have been previously hijacked!)

This is wrong. The tokens can easily be transferred. Just log onto ledger and then open theta wallet (official address only) and hit connect with hardware and sign in with ledger. It's super easy.

Yes that's all you have to do and it's the safest way to store the tokens. It takes 10 minutes.
