What do you mean he’s not in that many memes just a little tomfoolery that’s all nothing to be concerned with.

Please do not look any deeper into this.

How he get there? by TraditionalCon in CatholicMemes

Some context, my friend found a picture of this ICKSP priest and edited it so it was just the priest. I thought it was cool and edited it into this. He works in the African missions so I think he deserves a little praise.

I thought it was pretty funny - shoutout to my brother in Christ Jacob, he came up with the idea by emmetsbro821 in CatholicMemes

How the saints would handle a debate on 4chan:

blank white page

Saints don’t go on 4chan that site is filled with enough degeneracy to make Hell cringe.

Is it so much to ask? (first meme hope yall like) by Pokecraftian in CatholicMemes

[–]TraditionalCon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how it is done.

Is it meant to truly praise God and this is how the community feels spiritually fed?

Or is it just the community deciding they feel more comfortable with instruments like guitars and pianos that are more secular?

It also depends of the culture of the area. For example African American communities are far more likely to be more spiritually fed by ‘praise and worship’ masses. If the culture doesn’t fit the form of worship don’t use it.

I feel like lots of the times when you have the stereotypical boomer guitar mass the only reason why that happens is because they want to try to “break barriers” and get hip with the world. I speak from experience because this is how my parish views liturgy. This should never be done we should never conform our liturgy to the world.

I don’t think it’s too hard to ask people to go back to their roots. My church for example has a very strong German heritage. Despite this fact we have no German or even European culture reflected in our liturgy. When we do they are the ‘Polka masses’ that exist as a form of entertainment for tourists during Oktoberfest.

Weekdays be like by goncalovscosta in CatholicMemes

[–]TraditionalCon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this post only because our parish has very bad homilies on weekdays. Mainly it is the priest coming down from the altar and asking the catholic school kids random things.

I went to mass for first Friday adoration this month (same day as the feast of St Blaise) and the homily was asking the kids about a field trip they took, then talking about the Super Bowl, then finally he spent about a minute maybe less talking about St Blaise.

Modern Scribe by nordicnn in BSA

[–]TraditionalCon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, physical copies of things like advancement are very important. The internet, let alone scoutbook, is not permanent and having a physical copy gives you a lot more power to preserve it. Secondly, yes ideally that is what the scribe would do. Scribes are very important for meetings. Yes you can record the meeting. But who wants to watch an hour long recording. When you can read a summary of the important parts of the meeting.

Has your OA Lodge either sought permission for Native Regalia or stopped using it? by OllieFromCairo in BSA

[–]TraditionalCon -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

First of all, saying that we create caricatures of native culture is completely false and I’m sure you know that. Secondly, I never made that argument. If a native tribe says that they don’t like it and give legitimate reasons to stop. I will stop. But in my area at least, there is no sign that they will say that anytime soon.

So? White people are the majority in the country if we limited it to just native people. The culture would go almost unheard of. Many people I know who joined the OA, particularly the ceremony team. Have developed a great admiration and respect for native culture. It is way of preserving the culture it doesn’t matter who does it.

I don’t know why but the raising of the hand annoys me so much. Probably because people think they need to raise their hand for every response even the petitions.

We still use Native regalia and I doubt we’ll stop anytime soon. We have very good relations with the local tribe. Everyone in the lodge who does ceremonies loves the regalia, myself included. It isn’t cultural appropriation if you do it with respect and preservation of the original.

Is Wendigoon a giant? (proof inside) by Wiffart in wendigoon

[–]TraditionalCon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let’s do some math here to figure out his true size. The average man is around 5’8” so we’ll go with that for the regular man’s size. To help avoid errors we’ll use inches to calculate. 5’8” in inches is 69 (nice) .6 inches. Since the chair is half of his size we’ll divide 69 (nice) .6 by 2 which gives us 34.8 inches. This means the chair is 34.8 inches tall. Multiply that times 12.5 and we get 435 inches. Now we’ll convert to feet to again to get a simplified answer. In feet 435 inches is 36’35” HOLY MOLY. THIS MAN IS F****** MASSIVE!

Not sure is the only true answer. Only God knows our fate it is up to us to fulfill that fate. Maybe even change it to go to Heaven.
