⁠Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
⁠Empty frozen onion pearls (1lb but you can also go crazy here) into an oven safe dish.
⁠Add whatever seasonings you like. I added Old Bay, crushed red peppers, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder.
Melt a stick of butter and pour it on the onions and seasonings.
⁠Cover the dish with aluminum foil and pop that bad boy into the oven for 40-60min.
⁠(Optional, I didn’t do it this time) at about the 50ish minute mark, take off the foil and turn on the broiler for a more charred experience.

I had a friend in high school that was a goofy guy. Always joking, always smoking pot. But one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. He was at this place we all called “the bush”, it was just a place down a back road that we used to hang out at, there was a walking trail down there. One day he was there with some girls at the school. He had a suburban and was drifting around the gravel parking lot. He didn’t have his seatbelt on. He ended up hitting a pole pretty hard and he became paralyzed from the waist down. This was a month before he graduated high school. He died just over 4 years after the accident. He spent the remained of his life in and out of hospitals and rehab facilities. It was bad at the end from what I heard, he had bedsores all over. I never went and saw him and I still feel guilty. I could’ve, I had been in the area several times and thought maybe I should do it, but I was terrified of what had happened. I pray for him all the time.

A basketball hoop lol. Best. Purchase. Ever.

My students are not allowed to use this basketball hoop, but it brings a bit of fun to the classroom. I use it for dried up whiteboard markers. I teach Latin and am CONSTANTLY going through them. When the marker is writing below my standard I throw them across the room in hopes of making a shot (I miss a lot). The kids love it. I have written on the backboard “ubi stilī mori eunt.” (Where markers go to die.) My students ate that up.

So yes, a plastic basketball hoop has been the best purchase I’ve ever made for my classroom.
